Cataract - Cause, Symptoms, Diagnosis & Treatment in Delhi Cataract is known as clouding of the normal lens of the eye. For individuals who have cataract, seeing through cloudy lenses which is just behind the colored part of eye i.e., called as iris. Majorly cataracts develop slowly over the time and this cataract makes reading difficult and unclear for individual especially at night their vision is not clear due to this cloudy lens. This cataract continues to develop with the time, and this cloudy lens becomes denser. Cataract scatters and doesn’t allow the light to pass through the lens. As a result, the images created on retina is blurred and this led to blurred vision. Cataracts majorly develop in both eyes, but it is not always in both eyes and at the same rate. It can be possible that the cataract in one eye may be more advanced than on another eye. This will cause difference in vision between eyes.
Causes Mostly individual developed cataracts due to their old age or due to some injury in tissue which leads to break down of Proteins and fibers in their eye lens and makes their vision cloudy or hazy. Even some inherited genetic disorders or any other health problems can also increase the risk of cataracts. Even past eye surgery or medical conditions like diabetes can also leads to Cataracts.
