Red Diamond The rarest diamond found on the face of earth is red diamond. A mere thirty to forty red diamonds are known to exist on earth. The intense red color of a red diamond resembles that of a garnet. It usually weighs less than half a carat. During the 2014 Christie auction in Hong Kong, a 2.9 carat red diamond ring was sold for $5,095,872.

Grandidierite The color of grandidierite is often opaque to facet and is usually a deep blue green. The one feature of this gemstone that makes it an attractive stone to be used in making precious and fine jewellery is its hardness. However, the stone cutters must exercise caution while cutting this gemstone as the stone can be easily fractured.

Jadeite This stone has a translucent and slight green hue. The price of this gemstone is dependent on the vibrance of its color. The value and the price of the stone rise with the vividness of its color. This is usually found in several areas of Myanmar.

Ruby One of the most expensive gemstones is the naturally occurring ruby; not the one created in the laboratory. The laboratory created gems often look like their original counterparts but have much less value in the market.
