Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Tuesday testified before the Congress and during his five-hour testimony, the lawmakers asked him some tough questions on fake news, Russian interference during the 2016 presidential election and censorship of conservative media. He also formally apologised to the Congress for mistakes that led to the Cambridge Analytica scandal and emphasised that his company was rethinking its responsibility to users and society. Facebook is currently embroiled in a widening scandal involving British data firm Cambridge Analytica, which, allegedly, improperly gathered detailed Facebook information on 87 million users, according to the latest estimates. An earlier estimate had pegged the number at more than 50 million.This is the first time that the Facebook CEO is testifying before the Congress.
