Welcome to Angus Ross bespoke furniture studio.
We are based in Highland Perthshire surrounded by the trees that grow our timber. We work with foresters, tree surgeons and saw-millers passionate about native broadleaf trees. We are proud to be part of an important local circular economy working to improve local ancient woodlands.
All of our garden furniture is made in Scottish oak and designed by Angus Ross.
There is respect for wood. A respect that acknowledges the years laid out in growth rings from these living giants that drank the sun for so many years, that stood here in the heart of Scotland while the mist brushed them, snow swirled and eddied among their limbs, and the first sap rose each spring with the bluebells at their base.
Call it a negotiation, a conversation, a dialogue of sorts between Angus and wood. He asks more of it than most would dare, asks it to bend further, to colour deeper, to flex and join in ways that few would try. And the wood responds, this far, this deep, this thin.

Our furniture is made by hand in our historic studio-workshop that has been used continuously for woodwork since 1886. Our team of four highly skilled master craftsmen combine traditional cabinet-making, ancient steam-bending and the latest cutting technologies.
There is a sense of skill attracting skill in the workshop. But it’s more than just honed craft. Angus has attracted a team of genuine and passionate people. The craftsmen are hard-working, but unhurried. This is work that cannot be rushed. Time is literally in the grain, set at the heart of each piece in circled years.
