selected to join the committee she attended designed to get to know each other. amongst others, youth employment, youth/ participation, youth and public transport and youth interactions with the law. Involve committee members pool their resources to work together on the research design, the questions to ask and how they will report their findings. Although they received training in framing questions and developing presentations, the senior committee members play the primary role in putting together the formal written reports and supporting their younger peers. The committee’s first task was to develop a structure. A Chair and Vice-chair were chosen and Team Leaders also were given specific roles related to their experience and background. One team leader is a medical student who is good at framing research questions. Another team leader works in the Koori court and has decidedly different networks from other committee members. In this way every committee member brings something to contribute to the team, creating a truly diverse group.
