The mandatory work that must be done by the entire baduy community is ngahuma (dry rice planting). They produce their own food obtained from farming.

In agriculture, the form of pikukuh is not to change the contours of the land for the fields, so that the way of farming is very simple, do not cultivate the land with plows, do not make terraces, only plant with tugal, which is a piece of bamboo that is tapered. The tradition also stipulates that the rice produced by the Inner Baduy Tribe should not be traded. Baduy's formal criminal law applies the ultimum remedium principle so that the baduy customary criminal justice system is only used if the settlement of family-level cases of the parties (perpetrators and victims) does not work. The initial stage is always attempted to be completed on the side of the family.

During the waiting period of the trial the perpetrator by Jaro Dangka /Jaro 7 was placed in a village adapted to the path of " his prison" (as stated in the scheme). According to Jaro Sami, During the 40-day detention period, the perpetrator who was under jaro Dangka's supervision was placed in a house designated by Jaro Dangka. The perpetrator then does some kind of social work looking for firewood, or taking water without being hired
