Opak Gambir is a traditional Indonesian snack made from rice flour and shaped using a traditional tool. The process of making Opak Gambir is similar to that egg rolls. The only difference lies in the basic ingredients used.
In the process of making Opak Gambir, a high level of skill is required. The production process, which involves direct exposure to heat, can be hazardous to the workers.
The time-consuming process of producing Opak Gambir requires workers to sit for hours in uncomfortable positions, increasing the risk of leg cramps.
Therefore, based on this issue, there is a need for a simple workstation design to opmitize production at Opak Gambir / Egg Roll SMEs in Surabaya.

ACTIVITY ANALYSIS
PAIN POINTS
◦ Ineffective pouring of the batter into the molds as workers can only pour one at a time.
◦ Limited space for placing hot Opak Gambir due to the constraints of the provided stove area.
LIMITATIONS
1. The product will specifically accommodate the cooking process of Opak Gambir/Egg roll dough
2. The product will specifically accommodate the cooking process of Opak Gambir/Egg roll dough
3. The workstation design will focus on improving the layout of the table and modifying its shape based on the workers' sitting activities.
◦ Poor ergonomics as workers are provided with a simple wooden table and uncomfortable chairs that do not support long hours of work.
◦
The required movement area for the workers is extensive, but they are only provided with a narrow table surface.
◦ Direct contact of the workers' hands with metal utensils (spoons and molds), leading to inadequate safety measures.
◦ Direct contact of the workers' hands during the rolling of Opak Gambir/Egg rolls, resulting in inadequate safety precautions.
LOW FIDELITY PROTOTYPE
The low-fidelity prototype manufacturing process was conducted in two stages. The first stage involved using a 1:1 scale and utilizing cardboard and pipes as materials to assess the appropriate scale visualization.
In this prototype, the second design was chosen as the preferred model due to its unique and distinct form compared to typical table designs. However, it was deemed structurally inadequate, requiring several revisions to achieve the desired design.
After the revision process, a final design was achieved that is structurally sound and meets user requirements. A trolley design was also added to enhance user mobility when transferring the prepared Opak Gambir to the packaging area. Additional lighting was incorporated to improve the brightness level in the workstation, thereby increasing productivity and boosting user motivation during work.

INITIAL SKETCH
The initial idea behind this design was to create a sustainable chair that could be used in various conditions. There was inspiration to create a connection mechanism that would allow the chair to be used in a "lesehan" sitting position or even in a conventional dining position.
However, this idea proved challenging to implement in practice due to several considerations that needed to be taken into account.

Design Brief
To create a furniture set design that draws inspiration from the distinctive shapes of a cultural element in Indonesia.
I was submitting this design as one of my entries for the NFDC (Nusantara Furniture Design Competition).
A furniture set inspired by the captivating shapes of Indonesia's cultural element, the "kendhang" musical instrument.
This design seamlessly blends Scandinavian influences with Indonesian’s traditions, embodying the beauty and values of our culture, where each piece tells a story and invites you on a visual journey. Embrace the possibilities of modern design and explore the fuse of harmonious creativity and culture.

Design Process
Sketching
The sketching process is done manually, focusing on predetermined aspects or keywords.
I aim to emphasize a clean impression by avoiding excessive ornamentation in the design and instead focusing on creating a unique and dynamic framework for the furniture.
When it comes to the backrest and seater, I consider various possibilities for weaving techniques, including selecting the appropriate weaving material and patterns that align with the furniture concept.
3D Modelling
The selected design is further developed through the 3D modeling process to visualize the product. The 3D modeling process is carried out using Rhinoceros 7.0 software and rendered using Keyshot 10.

PORTFOLIO 2023
Coffee consumption in Indonesia continues to increase from year to year (BPS Indonesia, 2022).
Defining Problems
The higher the coffee consumption, the greater the production of coffee waste.
There are still many improper practices in processing coffee waste, which can be harmful to the environment.
The majority of ceramic tableware products in Indonesia neglect environmental aspects in their manufacturing process.
A long-term solution is needed for the processing of coffee waste by utilizing it as environmentally friendly ceramic products.
Coftery is here to provide a solution in the form of ceramic products that utilize coffee waste material processed together with clay, resulting in pottery products with improved heat resistance and durability.

DesignProcess
The initial idea was to design a choker with extended pendant so that the user would have the freedom to use chocker as well as the longer version of necklace.
Unfortunately, as the design process continued, that idea had to be abandoned because the choker was deemed to lose its modern character that I was trying to portray on the design. With the addition of pendants, the choker design would become too crowded due to the numerous additional components, thus losing the emphasis point oftheornamentationthathadbeenappliedtothechoker
After a long consideration, I was able to determine a perfect balance between modernity and traditional cultural elements by eliminating unnecessary components and presenting the design with a delicate blend of femininityandsimplicity.

DesignProcess
The 3D modelling process was very challenging for me, because I was forced to get out of my comfort zone and to learn new things to create a theexactvisualthatIwanted.
The software I used to 3D model the design was Rhinoceros. The parametric pattern to create intricate texturing of the stone and onthemetalswasgeneratedwiththehelpofGrasshopperwhich I have never used before and it took quiet a while for me to understand the algorithm. The rendering software I used was Keyshot10.Ithelpedmealottocreatevisuallystunningrender.
Even though my design is far from perfection, and it absolutely requires a lot of refinements, I truly enjoy the process of learning jewelry design. And I am certainly open to constructive criticism and suggestionthatwillimprovemydesignovertime.
DesignElaboration
The 3 dimensional triangular shape with lava stone sphere inside the triangle is a simplification of Borobudur stupa Three main pillars of the triangural shape also represents the "Punden Berundak" architecture which also has 3 main levels.
The placement for lava stone sphere halfway inside the trianglestructureisinspiredby several stupas in Candi Borobudur that have an Arca which is partly visible directly and Arca that is completely hiddeninsidethestupa.
nside the stupa is named Kunto Bimo. A myth believed by the people around the udur temple which says that whoever reaches into a hollow stupa and touches a part of the Buddha statue's body inside it will gain good luck or have their wishes granted

Kamadhatu
Rupadhatu
Arupadhatu
Design for the upper part of Dekara Earring was inspired by the overall shape of Borobudur when it's viewed from the bird eye perspective.
The bottom ring represents as Kamadhatu; The middle part of geometrically arranged "wired" black gold represents as Rupadhatu, and the lava stone beads in the center represents Arupadhatu.
There is also a 3 connectors from the bottom ring to the center which has its own meaning that all three stage of life, everything is connected. And one thing that connects all 3 stages of life according to Borobudur's philosophy is a sense of spirituality towards God andgooddeedsamonghumans.

DesignElaboration
Every texture imprinted on the metal surface portrays the reliefs on the surface of Candi Borobudur. There are approx. more than 1460 reliefs engraved on Candi Borobudur that expresses different stories of the 3 stages of life. In this design, I also wanted to adopt the concept of engraved reliefs as a texture to tell a story throughdetailsandadvancemanufacturinginthedesign.
As we know that Candi Borobudur has odd number as level, and we also know that the main levels of Candi Borobudur also consist of 3 levels (Arupadhatu, Rupadhatu, and Kamadhatu). Because of this information, I find the number "3" particularly intriguing and decided to incorporate it into every aspect possible forthisjewelrydesign.
Components like the back side of the choker consists of 3 different area , because when you wear the choker you can see distinct area separation between the upper part, the gap which is in middle area, and the base part that holds theshapealtogether.
Other examples are the 3 triangular pillars for basic structure to hold the lava stone beads for the choker & earring design.
