MISSION

Through vibrant, immersive, and adaptive design, I create spaces that tell stories, evoke emotion, and foster connection. I am passionate about researching the psychological effects of spaces and how they impact individuals emotionally and mentally. My ultimate goal is to rejuvenate neglected communities and design environments that celebrate culture, spark joy, and enhance well-being—transforming ordinary spaces into extraordinary experiences. Design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about impact, emotion, and belonging.”

Hello, My name is Angelyz Acevedo, an interior designer dedicated to creating spaces that inspire connection, creativity, and well-being. Influenced by my grandfather and my studies in Rome, I developed a deep appreciation for blending history, architecture, and modern design. My experience in residential and commercial projects, along with my internship at a kitchen and bath showroom, has strengthened my skills in SketchUp, AutoCAD, and evidence based and user-centered design.

With a focus on hospitality and exhibition spaces, I merge functionality with artistic expression, integrating biophilic and sustainable elements to craft immersive, meaningful environments. My goal is to design spaces that enrich lives, foster connection, and shape the future of design.

RESTORATIVE. COMFORT. PEACEFUL. Located in Emeryville, California, this community-focused space promotes mental well-being through biophilic design and art therapy. Rooted in research on holistic healing, the center addresses gaps in traditional wellness spaces—especially for those with sensory sensitivities, neurodivergence, or emotional trauma.

Inspired by Montessori principles, it integrates multisensory engagement to foster healing and connection. Spaces include meditation rooms, art studios, sensory gardens, and quiet zones. Natural materials, soft textures, and adaptive lighting create a calm, restorative environment.

SULTRY. ECLECTIC. ENIGMATIC. Located in a re-purposed hotel in Logan Square, Chicago, Den of Divinity is a bold bar and lounge that celebrates the city’s architectural legacy, jazz and blues roots, and vibrant nightlife.

Blending Art Deco glamor with Gothic Revival mystique, the space evokes a timeless yet edgy atmosphere. Designed for Chicago native Isabella Noir, the venue offers an eclectic, sultry experience using reclaimed materials, vintage furnishings, and energy-efficient lighting to balance luxury, intrigue, and sustainability.

Inspired by the charm of a French bistro, the design feels both elegant and inviting, with organic textures and warm, intimate lighting.

Sustainable flooring, acoustic ceiling panels, and a central skylight define the space, enhancing comfort while reducing environmental impact.

Beyond design, my creative practice explores the expressive world of painting, drawing, furniture making, and photography. Each piece reflects a deep passion for storytelling through form, texture, and color.
