Gloworm gives back to local charity for disabled children with 50p from every adult ticket sold supporting their vital work‌ School for Parents is a Nottingham based charity that enables disabled children and empowers parents. They enrich the lives of children with disabilities by using the principles of Conductive Education, a method of teaching practical ways to manage the additional challenges that accompany a disability, helping the child develop their independence and prepare them for the future by teaching a range of skills. Parents learn alongside their child and are provided with information, practical and emotional support. More than 90% of children who attend pre-school sessions develop the skills and confidence they need to enter mainstream education. The needs they meet Babies and children with a range of disabilities and challenges including cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, Rett syndrome, Muscular Dystrophy, Global Development Delay and genetic conditions attend weekly from the age of 6 months to 12 years of age. They need extra support to consciously learn life skills that come more naturally to others - these skills include communicating, eating and drinking, problem solving and playing, not just literacy and numeracy. School for Parents helps find a solution that works for them, such as eye gazing or signing. Helena Tyce Designs - Art that warms the heart

Where we have come from…

Getting out there…

Talking…

HTD started life back in 1994, when Helena graduated from university, armed with a degree in surface pattern design. She went to work for Liberty, and after that went on to work as a fashion designer and an interior designer, for a time. But it was after her children, Iris and Louis, were born that HTD became what it is today. Art inspired by life.

Helena’s work has been licensed and sold by John Lewis, is available on Not On The High Street and also in a growing number of independent retailers throughout the UK. The product range is always expanding but currently includes prints, stationery, personalised gifts and homewares. High quality products, excellent service and a sunny disposition, make the HTD team lovely people to buy from. We’re good eggs who like to trade ethically too, all products are made exclusively in the UK and locally where possible, to reduce our carbon footprint.

This is another of our favourite pasttimes, so please do get in touch if you fancy a chin-wag about all things HTD.

The Craft… Helena’s work has evolved from her love of words, all things vintage and a few blasts from the past! Inspired by family, music, having fun and a bit of silliness, Helena is a pen and paper kinda gal and this is how every idea starts. Splicing the old with the new to reinvent classics, creating a distinctive style all of her own. Her mix of hand drawn illustrations, painting, iconic British imagery, words, letterpress and prints creates a warmth and richness that finds a place in people’s hearts. Capturing nostalgia with a contemporary twist.

People like us… With an ever-increasing fan base both in the UK and abroad, HTD is pleased to be supported by a community of like-minded people. Discoverers and explorers who value their connections and take great delight in searching for and finding something unique for themselves or as the perfect gift. These are people who are proud to support emerging British talent and who want to help businesses grow, just like us.

“Remember when…? This is a question that comes up a lot at HTD. We love to look back on the good ol’ days, finding out about the quirky traditions of times gone by. It influences our designs, capturing nostalgia with a contemporary twist. Splicing the old with the new, in a distinctive style with a warmth and richness that warms the heart. Available as prints, stationery, homewares and gifts, with the option to personalise too, there’s something for everyone. We like to make people smile, and imagine that you do too.”
