LA VOZ PASIVA

La voz pasiva es una voz gramatical que es común en muchos idiomas. El pasivo se utiliza en una cláusula cuyo sujeto expresa el tema o paciente del verbo principal. Eso significa que el sujeto se somete a una acción o que ha cambiado de estado.

El transformar un verbo activo a pasivo es un proceso de disminución de valencia (“detransitivizing process”), porque transforma verbos transitivos en verbos intransitivos.

¿Cómo se construye la voz pasiva?

La estructura de la voz pasiva es muy sencilla: 

sujeto + verbo auxiliar (be) + verbo principal (en pasado participio)

El verbo principal siempre está en pasado participio. Por ejemplo: sujeto aa Fire We I We Are

LA VOZ PASIVA Y SUS USOS ¿Cómo se usa la voz pasiva?

Utilizamos la voz pasiva cuando: 

Queremos hacer más importante al objeto activo Abraham Lincoln was killed

by John Wilkes Booth.  El sujeto activo es desconocido My car has been stolen.

Es importante notar que siempre utilizamos by para introducir al objeto pasivo. Por ejemplo, observa esta oración:  She was shot with a cannon.

Normalmente utilizamos by para introducir al objeto pasivo. Pero el cañón no es el sujeto activo. El cañón no le disparó. A ella le disparó alguien con un cañón.

En la voz pasiva sería “Somebody shot her with a cannon”.

El arma es el instrumento. Alguien es el agente o realizador de la acción.

¿Cómo se conjuga la voz pasiva?

Podemos formar la voz pasiva en cualquier tiempo. De hecho, la conjugación de verbos en el pasivo es bastante fácil, ya que el verbo principal está siempre en pasado participio y el verbo auxiliar es siempre be. Para formar el tiempo requerido, conjugamos el verbo auxiliar. Así, por ejemplo: presente simple: It is done presente continuo: It is being done presente perfecto: It has been done DOER
