Iaşi poate fi descris cu uşurinţă ca fiind oraşul începuturilor. Multe momente importante din istoria României au avut loc în acest oraş. Primul teatru naţional, primul monument, prima grădină botanică sau Sinagoga Mare sunt câteva din numeroasele exemple ce pot fi enumerate. Aceste informaţii trebuie prezentate cetăţenilor din acest oraş cât şi studenţilor din alte ţări, într-o manieră interesantă care să-i provoace să caute mai departe mai multe informaţii. Posterele sunt realizate într-un mod simplu, cu detalii strict necesare pentru identificarea ulterioară a monumentului sau a clădirii.

Iaşi can be easly described as the city of the beginnings. The first national theatre, first monument, botanical garden or synagogue are some of the few examples that can be enumerated. These historycal facts need to be presented to the citizens of Iaşi and also to the important number of foreign students in a way that can make them wonder and research further for more information. The posters are made in a simple manner with only a few details that are necessary for recognising a certain element from the building or monument that is presented.

La baza acestui concept sta ideea ca fiecare om este liber si poate face ceea ce doreste. De multe ori, nu ne urmam visele, fie pentru ca ni se pare prea greau, fie ca nu avem bani, fie ca nu avem curaj, sau ca ne e frica, sau pur si simplu pentru ca nu ave increderea necesara, iar asta genereaza sentimente de frustrare, sau nervi. Am creat acest concept pentru a le reaminti oamenilor ca au potential. Ideea e simpla: Am creat un joc, sub forma unor stickere.

Ideea e simpla: Am creat un joc, sub forma unor stickere. Persoana e indemnata sa noteze pe verso intr-un mod cat mai sincer ce nu poate sa faca, apoi sa razuiasca in jurul negatiei, descoperind simbolul pozitiv, sub forma unei fete zambitoare. Intr-un final, negatia se transforma intr-un mesaj afirmativ, care iti sugereaza ca poti sa reaalizezi ceea ce crezi ca nu poti realiza.

Dupa cum spune si ultimul punct din instructiuni, stickerele pot fi lipite oriunde, prin oras, acasa, pe diferite obiecte. In acest fel se creaza o repetitie vizuala a fenomenului in oras, care are rolul de a starni curiozitatea neparticipantilor, convertindu-se intr-un final in trafic web.

Ideea poate fi transmisa si pe suporturile de pahare in cluburi, baruri, cafenele sau ceainarii cu acelasi nivel de interactivitate ca si in cazul stickerelor, acestea putand fi luate acasa si refolosite. In acest fel, cu fiecare utilizare, persoana isi reaminteste ca poate.

Site-ul urmareste acelasi concept ca si sticker-ul. Utilizatorul completeaza campul liber, si mesajul se schimba odata cu apasarea butonului “trimite�. In fundal se pot distinge fraze negative, ale altor utilizatori, care, de asemenea se vor transforma in mesaje pozitive. Odata cu transformarea mesajului , utililazatorul primeste si un citat incurajator, in functie de tipul problemei sale. De asemea, el are optiunea de a distribui adresa site-ului pe retelele de socializare, de a downloada un wallpaper cu mesajul sau, sau o aplicatie de tip widget. O alta optiune a paginii web este cumpararea de materiale promotionale personalizate, pentru a-i fi reamintit si incurajat sa realizeze aceste lucruri.

Conceptul poate fi aplicat la scara globala, putand fi tradus in orice limba. Ca o concluzie, am creat mai mult decat un concept urban, ci un fenomen aplicabil la scara internationala.

Tinta proiectului meu este regandirea semnelor stradale si conceperea acestora ca si surse de informare spatiala si cat si culturala. The target of my project is to redesign the street signs, making them a source of cultural and spatial information.

03 18 Altough throughout the years, the city administration has had several attempts to deal with this problem, the last decade has left the citizens of Iasi with the sun in their eyes and poop on their shoes, clothes, cars and windows.

The influence of crows on the society is rapidly increasing as the need for food is proportional to the number of birds.Beside the city and its urban areas, crops and rural fields are also being affected by the omnivore corvines, that have no food preferences. Altough there are simple and practical solutions for this problem, the city continues to be flooded without any human intervention.

Giving all that, we have learned to accept not the ignorance of city's administratives, but what nature brings with its evolution. An awareness campaign takes birth as an ironic response to the awkardness of the situation. A positive attitude regarding the subject, finds the normal citizen trapped between the problem “old as earth” and an unexpected reaction. The temporal solution might just be a laugh at the social inadaptation on “rough conditions”. Different print materials and clothes accesories will bring the problem forth with a small amount of hope for change. And since resistance is futile, we have learned to adapt and deal with it.

This publication is the outcome of a one week workshop conducted by andrews:degen, a graphic design studio based in Amsterdam. Students from the graphic design department of the university ‘George Enescu’, in Iași, Romania, explored their city from different angles. Iași is one of the largest cities and a municipality in Romania. Located in the Moldavia region, Iași has traditionally been one of the leading centres of romanian social, cultural, academic and artistic life. Iași itself has a population of 263,410 (the fourth most populous romanian city) and accommodates over 75,000 students. The topics are based on social issues, personal stories and visual communication in the city of Iași. Students developed interventions, campaigns and more poetic visual statements. Design thinking as a method for research, exploration and social problem solving in a densed urban environment. This project was made possible thanks to the support of the Deutsches Kulturzentrumin Iași and the Universitatea de Arte ‘George Enescu’ Iaşi.
