Rusty Bailey Campaign Pitch

RUSTY’S FOR RIVERSIDE. I’M FOR RUSTY. CAMPAIGN Rusty is a multi-generational member of the Riverside community. Since 1914, his family has been involved and invested into making this city a better place.

We wanted to create a campaign that not only allowed Rusty to communicate his passion for this city, but for the community to also stand with Rusty.

KEY ART The design of the key art for the campaign is aimed to have a hand-made look with a vintage feel. This allows for the campaign to give the impression that it is coming from a person, not a company or corporate entity.

COLORS The colors chosen are reminiscent of the colors of Riverside and UCR. It is a familiar color scheme to many residents and with increased saturation, this combination will jump o the page and catch the eye’s attention. This will increase visibility on lawn signs, billboards, and social media platforms while providing a unique and bold look to the campaign.

PRINT COLLATERAL Print collateral would mimic the voice of the campaign, but also provide Rusty a space to make his commitment to Riverside. The signature will be added as both a personal greeting and an implication that Rusty stands with the community and is for Riverside.

MARKETING MATERIALS (CONT.) As an alternative to traditional round buttons, the campaign would utilize trends to extend it’s reach. Enamel pins and vinyl decals or stickers would become an alternative way for the community to show their support. This would be accessible to all ages from college students to career minded business professionals.

SOCIAL IMPACT This campaign would extend into all social media platforms. The signature would be incorporated with a photo of Rusty to create a personal connection between the campaign and the viewer.

APPAREL Apparel should take a bold approach while incorporating the elements of other campaign elements. The star and triangle badge will be displayed in multiple color schemes to take the brand o of the page and into the streets.

TYPOGRAPHY A custom typeface will be created to preserve the brand. This type will be a strong sans serif with texture incoporated to give a rolled ink or letterpress aesthetic. This typography will be used as a display typeface to promote large ideas on print and digital collatoral. This type will often be oset to provide a color interaction with a white bleed.
