Ear Wax Removal is still a large part of what we offer at Andrew Bird Hearing. All of our Audiologists perform this procedure using micro-suction and irrigation.

Choosing the right Hearing Aid
When a client comes in to see one of our Audiologists, they generally have no idea what their level of loss is, what technology is out there and what they should expect. This is an outline of the journey we guide you through:
1. A full, comprehensive hearing test performed by a fully qualified Hearing Aid Audiologist.
2. An explanation of the results, discussing if a loss is present and if hearing aids would be of assistance to you.
3. You will then be shown a bespoke selection of hearing aids with an explanation of how hearing aids work and what you can expect out of them. The Audiologist will help with a decision on style, level of technology and cost to select the aid that is felt to be the best to improve your individual lifestyle and hearing.
4. A date to fit the hearing aid will be booked.
During the fitting appointment you will have your new hearing aids adjusted to your specific level of hearing, and a follow up appointment will be booked for 2 weeks time to check in.
Don’t forget that with Andrew Bird Hearing you have 60 days to change the style, level of technology or return the aids to get a full refund.

Manufacturer Updates
Since our last newsletter there have been a few additions to the vast array of hearing aids available, to us as an independent hearing company, and ultimately you as a customer.
Oticon have improved on their very successful RITE ‘More’ hearing aid, with their new ‘Real’ aid, along with a new app called ‘Companion’. Some improvements include better noise reduction from wind, handling and sudden noise.
We are offering a £200 discount on pairs of Oticon Real 1 hearing aids.
Phonak have launched the ‘Slim’, their new hearing aid that uses the same technology as their latest ‘Lumity’ aid but with a unique, slim body fitting over and around the ear. They have also launched a waterproof version of the Lumity aid.
Phonak are offering free TV Connectors worth £250 with pairs of Audeo Lumity & Slim hearing aids.

Unitron have replaced their RITE ‘Blu’ hearing aid with the new ‘Vivante’. This new release has a new look, improved (smaller) charger and enhanced speech recognition.
