Social Masks

Social Masks was a project developed in Contemporary Artistic Movements with my classmates. We took Erving Goffman’s seventh concept, Mystification, and we built a Photo Montage. Everyday when we left our home, we are not ourselves, we are what people perceived we are, and that can cause a lot of damage. Our society is judgmental and full of hatred, and we will never truly know anyone, hence the “masks”. Our idea was to create a “before/after” effect of someone who has personal issues, and had to put on a Social Mask to

hide and show a different version of himself to please other. He felt like he didn’t belong to the label people gave him and he also didn’t felt like he knew anyone. Society was just faceless faces, serial numbers.

Overwhelmed by fakeness and his mask, he achieved a breaking point. He started to drown in social pressure and pressumptions demanded by our supercificial and evil society, and he can´t get out of this “sea of eyes” that keeps chasing him.

Santi

Santi is a web app focused on developing interest for the Salinas de Santiago da Fonte, a local place in our main campus. The Salinas is a resource that it’s not being utilized and valued by the academic community.

We created a tool that would help us promote the ecossystem, creating a community to unite animal and nature lovers, while keeping autencity of the content with the Department of Biology.

Our prototype was made on Figma, focused on minimalistic design targeted for a variety of age ranges.

Networkme

Networkme is a Portuguese startup whose purpose is helping students achieve their next step in their lifes, the labor market, with ease. During my time there as Community Shaper in design, I created a lot of posts, gave a lot of insights and overall was a great experience.

Graphic 2022_2023

Graphic is a very important project for me. It was made during my Erasmus semester in Zlín, Czech Republic.

Me and my lovely friend, Irene, had a Graphic Design Class together, with the objective of creating a fanzine of our experience. What we did was, with the help of artificlal inteligence, create a page for

everybody enrolled in the class. Something that, when they would get home, could remind them that, for a semester, all of us got together in little classroom in Czech Republic to create art, but most important, memories.

Gala Celestial

This Gala was part of my journey in Aveiro Smart Business, a junior enterprise in my university. The theme of the gala was celestial, astronomy, and one of my duties of being part of the staff was to create materials like presentations, playlists, menus, invitations and many more.
