MEDIA LAB: WORKSHOPS FOR SCHOOLS

News Editor for a Day 14 years +

SCHOOL WORKSHOP | Grades 8 to 10 Come and have a look at how a news editor prioritises the day’s selection of news. You will yourselves have access to the stories, when it’s your turn to choose what should be printed on the front page, what today’s leader story should be about, or who you want to write a piece about. The workshop starts with an introduction to how a news editor

selects the day’s news, and which methods journalists employ to tell the stories in the best possible ways. Afterwards, the students will themselves be able to leaf through the stories, as they work in groups of 5 to make today’s newspaper unforgettable. As a preparation, the class will read the article ‘Write about reality’, which the workshop instructor will send to the school. In the week leading up to the workshop, you will also receive Politiken newspaper every day, so that you can get to know the newspaper and get inspired.
