My name is Andrea Saba, a Miami-based architecture student with a multicultural background and a passion for context-driven design. I began my studies in Damascus, Syria, and completed my Associate in Arts in Architecture Design at Miami Dade College (May 2025) Adapting to new environments has shaped me into a quick learner and flexible thinker qualities I bring to both academic and professional work. My recent installation project at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens strengthened my interest in site-specific, historically mindful design, and I value creativity, clarity, and collaboration in every project.
My Objective
To continue growing as a designer by contributing to thoughtful, culturally aware projects that blend creative exploration with real-world problemsolving. I’m eager to join a team where I can apply my adaptability, technical skills, and diverse background to meaningful architectural work.

sense of place
This project explores place-making through phenomenology, revealing the deeper qualities of space beyond the visible Inspired by Norberg-Schulz’s Genius Loci, the design integrates physical, psychological, and cultural elements to create a meaningful architectural experience.
This project explores place-making through phenomenology, using spatial relationships to evoke meaning beyond the visible Comprising three key environments Outside, In-Between, and Inside the design integrates physical, psychological, and cultural aspects to shape a profound architectural experience.
sense of place
This project explores spatial storytelling through three interconnected environments: Outside, In-Between, and Inside Each space embodies a unique combination of physical, psychological, and cultural aspects, guiding users through a carefully orchestrated experience
The design emphasizes anticipation as users transition toward the Inside, where a moment of revelation unveils the essence of the space Architectural elements walls, ramps, and roofs shape this journey, employing sequencing and temporality to evoke intellectual and emotional responses By structuring experiences over time, the project enhances engagement, ensuring a profound connection between space and visitor.
Kendall airport museum
This project explores the architectural principles necessary to design a functional and culturally meaningful air and space museum The study focuses on spatial relationships, formal composition, and operational needs while integrating cultural influences to create a design that communicates a deeper narrative The objective is to develop a thoughtful proposal that not only facilitates the museum’s function but also reflects its significance in a broader cultural and historical context.
Kendall airport museum
This museum is designed to foster interaction between visitors and the site's equipment and operations A key objective is to create an environment where guests can observe both the museum’s inner workings and the activities of the surrounding airport. The design carefully balances engagement and safety, offering strategic views that allow visitors to experience the dynamic nature of aviation within a controlled setting Special attention is given to the relationship between users and the overall site, ensuring a seamless connection between the museum and its operational context
Vizcaya museum and Gardens
In Architecture Design 4, our studio engaged in an interdisciplinary collaboration with the Interior Design program at Miami Dade College (Wolfson Campus), working alongside the Creative and Public (CAP) Lab of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens This partnership invited students to explore the intersection of contemporary design and historical preservation through the creation of site-specific, temporary installations
As part of this collaboration, the Interior Design students developed textiles inspired by the rich visual language of Vizcaya and its estate Our Architecture Design class focused on conceptualizing and constructing spatial installations that not only responded to the historic site, but also served to support and display these textiles in a cohesive and engaging way Together, we created immersive design experiences that bridged material exploration with spatial storytelling
This hands-on experience deepened our understanding of design as a collaborative process and strengthened our ability to create work that is both conceptually meaningful and contextually sensitive.
As part of our Architecture Design 4 studio’s collaboration with Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Timeless Bloom was developed as a temporary installation that reflects on the themes of memory, nature, and time within Vizcaya’s historic setting
Our concept centered on creating a quiet, evocative space that guides visitors through a sensory experience reminiscent of wandering through Vizcaya’s gardens and historic interiors A floral-patterned textile originally designed by the Interior Design class was thoughtfully integrated into our architectural installation, selected for its ability to visually and conceptually complement our theme of blooming memory
We constructed the installation using lightweight PVC piping, a material choice made in direct response to the historical sensitivity of Vizcaya’s environment. The curved framework gently holds the fabric in suspended forms, creating a flowing composition that mirrors the arches and volumes of the estate The soft draping and rhythm of the structure evoke a sense of nostalgia and delicate permanence, symbolizing how memory lingers in space
Vizcaya museum and Gardens
Bloom honors Vizcaya’s past while offering a contemporary reflection on its continued influence through art and design.
