That is our goal with these teachings as expressed by the founder Earlyne Chaney when she wrote that “these lessons interweave the information to guide you toward a new and better life” in the opening chapters of the Book of Life.

As a full-time healer, Greg has performed over 85,000 healing sessions and has instructed thousands of students over the past 25 years. He is a direct student of Satguru Choa Kok Sui, Emaho and of a Lakota Medicine Man. He has over 95,000 clinical hours of experience in Advanced Medical Aromatherapy, and is the owner of Plant Prana Essential Oils. He teaches Astara classes 3x per week

Former certified Pranic Healing Instructor who personally studied with HMCKS since 1996. As an Arhatic yogi his direct approach to complicated spiritual topics are enhanced by his experimental inclusion and deep knowledge of Astara.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE Let’s innovate together

Human creativity is the ability to generate new and valuable ideas, concepts, solutions, or expressions through the integration of existing knowledge, experiences, and imagination. It involves thinking outside the box, making connections, and bringing forth original insights or creations that can have a significant impact on various domains, including art, science, technology, and everyday life.

Human creativity often begins with the assimilation of existing knowledge and experiences. This can be from a wide range of sources, including education, personal experiences, and exposure to diverse perspectives. This is known as knowledge integration and leads to divergent thinking. This generates a multitude of ideas, possibilities, or solutions rather than adhering to a single path or conventional approach. This engages the imagination which plays a pivotal role in creativity, which allows individuals to mentally explore different scenarios, visualize concepts, and experiment with ideas in a playful and unrestrained manner.

Intuition or insight, plays a significant role in the innovative process. It involves a deep understanding that transcends rational thought which is based on processing information from the senses, and draws from a higher level of consciousness that is beyond the senses and correlates to an inner knowing. The innovative process is transformative in nature and involves the transformation of abstract ideas and concepts into tangible realities, thereby altering the course of human existence. This produces an “Alignment with Universal Principles” , successful innovation aligns with universal principles or truths. This recognizes that innovative ideas resonate with the inherent order and harmony of the universe. This order and Harmony may involve experiences of synchronicity, where seemingly unrelated events or ideas come together in a meaningful way. This can be seen as a metaphysical aspect of how innovation unfolds.

Presenting the Mechanics of Innovative Creativity and working the 3 Brains Technique for intuitive thinking is something I am excited to keep unfolding with you all this year and beyond.

CULTIVATING THE INTUITIVE MIND

Working The 3 Brains

How do you make yourself better? How do you cultivate the Self and evolve? How do you innovate without having to think about it?

You need to go beyond the senses and beyond the logical mind. You need to work the three brains.

The Root Brain has a lot to do with instinctive responses to things in the environment. It is located in the reproductive organs. Instinctive response means your brain doesn’t have time to process. It is instinctual and immediate.

The Solar Plexus Brain is tied to your emotions. It’s about how we feel. For example, the capacity for empathy. It is located in the abdomen.

The Cranial Brain is your mind., your thought process and cognitive function. It is located in the head.

We possess all three of the above but some areas are more dominant than others. These are powerful centers that influence us. They influence our actions and thinking and our intuition. Intuition is your ability to balance and harmonize all three aspects simultaneously.

If you can get all three to work together the following occurs:

1. You develop intuitive info hidden on the right side of brain

2. You bring in a tremendous amount of Light. Light is how you gather information or material for insight

3. You engage the volatile elements. You activate the volatile elements and the fixed elements for a harmonious blending

As these things unfold it is teaching something to your mind.

THE ATTAINMENT OF ILLUMINATION.

is achieved in two ways. One is through experience and studies — a process by which insight is gained gradually through analysis, comparison, and acquiring knowledge step by step.

The second is through a sudden burst of perception which may also be the consequence of experience and study, or may be the result of spontaneous intuition.

Astara’s Degree Lessons lead to the attainment of illumination by both methods. The Lessons provide the foundation on which illuminative insights are gained ... they clear the inner channels that lead to sudden and often unexpected intuitive insights.

Active Clairvoyance and the Three Brains: Benefits

Enhanced Intuition: Balancing these aspects can sharpen your intuitive abilities. Intuition, often linked to instinct and gut feelings, can become more reliable when aligned with your cognitive processes, leading to a deeper connection with your inner wisdom.

Alignment with Higher Self: Achieving harmony between the Three Brains is seen as a way to align with your higher self or spiritual essence. This alignment may lead to a sense of purpose, fulfillment, and a feeling of being in sync with the universe. The spiritual manifestation of the Three Brains is the Trinity of Divine Light, Divine Love, and Divine Power. Through the harmonizing of the Three Brains the student engages the evolutionary process of three becoming one (otherwise known as “The Alignment”).

Spiritual Growth: Astara suggest that inner harmony is a key component of spiritual growth. When these aspects are in balance, you may experience a greater sense of spiritual enlightenment, awareness, and connection to the divine. When spiritual growth is accelerated through the Love aspect it has a stabilizing effect on karmic manifestations.

State of Flow: Inner Teachings reveal that harmonizing these aspects promotes the balanced flow of energy within the body and spirit (Form and Essence also known as “State and Process”). When balanced it can lead to improved health, vitality, and a deep sense of wellbeing.

Manifestation: The idea of harmonization of the Three Brains is often associated with the law of attraction and the power to manifest. When instinct, feelings, and cognitive processes are in sync, you may find it easier to manifest positive outcomes in your life.

Emotional Healing: Inner harmony can facilitate emotional healing. Elevating emotional responses to higher states of feeling helps to resolve past traumas, release negative emotions, and facilitates emotional balance (inner peace), which is considered essential for better relationships, generational healing, and personal fulfillment.

Improved Stress Response: Inner teachings reveal the connection between the stress response and how karma manifests in our lives. The refinement of the stress response improves the quality of our life while improving our ability to naturally diminish our karmic issues.

Innovation: The term “novel” means something new or not formerly known (or used) in concept, action, or expression. “Stepping out of the box” is a common expression that further describes this aspect of innovation associated with Active Clairvoyance and the Three Brains. The ability to perceive, process, adjust, adapt, flow, and establish new behavioral patterns is known as the “Innovative Process” or “Intuitive Intelligence”.

Enhanced Synchronicity: When you harmonize these aspects, you become more attuned to synchronicities or meaningful coincidences in your life. These experiences are often seen as signs of alignment with a higher spiritual order. Metaphysically this is recognized as aligning with the Divine Plan and understanding “all is in Divine Order”.

Oneness and Unity: Achieving harmony within oneself is seen as a reflection of the greater unity and interconnectedness of all beings and the universe. It can lead to a sense of oneness and a deeper understanding of the interconnected nature of reality. This directly impacts the resonance of the aura which substantially shifts how we attract what we need in life. Compassion, Loving Kindness, and the ability to experience miracles are all a byproduct of Active Clairvoyance and harmony of the Three Brains.

Psychic and Spiritual Abilities: Inner harmony can awaken or enhance psychic and spiritual abilities, such as clairvoyance, clairaudience, heightened spiritual perception, communication with the higher soul, the physicalization of blessings (from spiritual teachers, deities, angels).

THE THREE BRAINS:

Here is the way the yogi or mystical student sharpens their intuition:

In addition to the cranial brain, we possess a solar brain, and the root brain at the base of the spine. These last two are called “brains” in that they are powerful centers, influencing our minds and thoughts. At present, humankind is dominated by the solar plexus brain, which is shown fully unfolded. The heart center is shown inactive, as a closed lotus, but which will unfold to its full radiance. Note the cord extending between the solar brain and the heart. It is over this cord, created by our own efforts, that the energies must rise into the heart chakra and be transmuted. When this happens the heart chakra will radiate light and the solar brain will become inactive, just opposite to our present illustration.

A phurba is a three-sided peg,

stake, knife, or nail-like ritual implement with deep roots in Indo-Tibetan Buddhism. It’s primarily associated with the meditational deity Vajrakīlaya (Dorje Phurba), who embodies the essence of transformative power.

Subduing negative forces: The three points of the phurba pierce and immobilize these forces, rendering them harmless.

Across Time and Space: A Conversation on Intellect vs. Intuition

Professor Albert Einstein

His Holiness the Dalai Lama

A meeting between the Dalai Lama and Albert Einstein never happened in real life, as Einstein passed away in 1955 and the Dalai Lama became a public figure in the 1950s. However, just imagine what a conversation between these two brilliant minds might have been like.

Here’s a possible scenario of their conversation. Original quotes are in quotation marks:

Setting: A peaceful garden in Dharamsala, India. The Dalai Lama, dressed in his maroon robes, sits on a cushion, and Einstein, in a relaxed suit, sits in a chair across from him.

Dalai Lama:

Professor Einstein, it is an honor to have you here. I have long admired your work and your dedication to understanding the universe.

Einstein:

The honor is mine, Your Holiness. Your teachings on compassion and inner peace are a beacon of hope in a troubled world.

Dalai Lama:

I believe that science and spirituality can learn much from each other. Science helps us understand the external world, while spirituality helps us understand the internal world. Together, they can provide a complete picture of reality.

Einstein:

I agree wholeheartedly. My pursuit of science has always been driven by a deep sense of wonder and a desire to unravel the mysteries of the universe. But I also believe that there is more to reality than what we can see and measure.

Dalai Lama:

Indeed. The mind is a vast and complex thing, and science is only just beginning to understand its potential. Perhaps through collaboration, we can unlock the secrets of the mind and harness its power for good.

Einstein:

I am intrigued by your concept of INTUITION. Can you explain how it relates to the pursuit of scientific knowledge?

Dalai Lama:

That is a profound thought. “I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world stimulating progress and giving birth to evolution.”

The Art of Happiness

Both the Dalai Lama and Einstein were known for their deep curiosity about the world around them, their pursuit of truth, and their commitment to peace and understanding. They approached these goals from different perspectives, with Einstein being a scientist focused on the physical world and the Dalai Lama being a spiritual leader focused on the inner world.

These important influential giants, with seemingly opposing views of materialism and spiritualism; both advocate for the intuitive process. One of the great human mysteries is the mechanics of bringing forth and refining these innate abilities. At Astara, we are focusing our attention on revealing the intuitive (clairvoyant) puzzle, through the Degree Lesson texts and through practical application techniques for everyday use. Fine-tuning intuitive thinking is essential to human self realization as we evolve beyond the senses and tap into new ways of seeing our world. AWAKEN THIS POTENTIAL: YOUR ABILITY TO GOVERN CIRCUMSTANCES

There is a life-principle which lies dormant in most lives. Some use it unconsciously to perform pre-determined miracles. This life-principle of magnetic attraction and direction is basically influenced by predominant thought patterns. The arrangement of your predominating thought pattern, then, determines precisely how the lifeprinciple will serve you.

Thought patterns take their arrangement from the prevailing nature of your consciousness. Does it have a direction? If it does, is it directed toward accomplishment of a specific goal, or does it tend to wander from one goal to another? Or, as is usually the case, is its power directed toward non-fulfillment or failure?

Each time you consider a given idea you establish the potential for fairlure or success through the thought pattern you create. Thought patterns have a magnetic, directive quality. Like a ball rolling downhill they gather momentum and force and they influence every situation they touch.

To activate the life-principle in the affirmative manner set your thought pattern twice each day. At night just before you fall asleep. And in the morning before you begin your daily affairs.

At both times be as relaxed as possible. Center your attention for a moment on your needs. In a calm way mentally associate them with the Infinite through the symbol of LIGHT.

“See” divine LIGHT permeating yourself and your affairs. (Surrounding them with a ball of white light).

“Feel” the flow of light from you into your activities…into other persons, into evolving circumstances, even into places and things. As this LIGHT flows in and through you it helps establish positive thought patterns that direct the life-principle into miracle-producing channels.

Now apply your potentials to a practical world. Begin tonight by:

- think about tomorrow’s activities and arrange them in order of importance

-write the numbered activities on a sheet of paper (no more than 5)

Having fixed these approaching activities in your mind you will discover that through the night the inner aspects of your Self will be applied to them. Higher levels are alerted when there are specifics tasks assigned to them.

-tomorrow start your day with the first activity and carry it through to completion until your list is finished -never leave an activity until it is completed

By giving direction to your inner potentials you will tremendously increase the amount of work you can accomplish and all of it will be done more efficiently and will be radiant with the LIGHT of your true inner being.

The vagus nerve rises out of the medulla oblongata and brain stem and courses downward through the neck to pierce the heart and abdomen. One branch of it terminates at the “pulsepoint” in the heart. Another extends on down to the abdomen. This nerve completely controls the respiratory system, creating of it the most important one nerve in the body, for without precise esoteric knowledge and training, we cannot physically exist without breathing.

The vagus nerve is the channel for the abdominal “holy breath” utilized by yogis.

In the initiate the positive and negative etheric nerve currents have achieved a rhythmic flow. There are few today who possess this desired balance, due both to polluted air and erroneous habits in everyday life and thinking. The valves at the root of the nostrils are either damaged or do not respond as they should because of the impotency of the pineal gland and the resulting deterioration of the Third Eye in modern human beings. It has never been trained by the subconscious to respond automatically, and that is the purpose of the following:

Purifying Breath

1. Sit or stand with the spine held erect. Completely exhale to empty lungs of impure air.

2. Close the right nostril with the thumb of your right hand.

3. Inhale through your left nostril to the count of 4.

4. Close left nostril with right forefinger.

5. Raise thumb from right nostril exhale to count of 8.

6. Repeat leaving forefinger on left nostril and in haling through the right nostril to the count of 4, etc.

- Try not to force this exercise in any way, but keep the breathing as normal as possible Should the counts listed seem to strain your breaths, lower the count to that which is comfortable for you — for instance, 2-8-4, if you wish.

- Do not perform over four Breaths at any one time. To do so occasionally would not be dangerous but it must not habitually be carried beyond this count.

- This exercise can be a tremendous benefit to your unfolding as it tranquilizes the nerves, induces sleep, balances the hormones and eases tension.

THE THREE BRAINS

These original sketches are by Frances Paelian but they never made it into the final Book of Life Degree Lessons.

The illustrations are detailed and explanatory and if compared to the published images, they are quite informative in their anatomical presentation. We wonder which ones you prefer?

Astara is privileged to be archiving all the old Astara illustrations. It’s an all-volunteer process that is intricately time-consuming.

As there are hundreds of sketches, original artworks, illustrations diagrams and prints. We give thanks for donations that help fund these efforts.

In addition to the cranial brain we posses a solar plexus brain, and the root brain at the base of the spine. These last two are called “brains” in that they are powerful centers, influencing our minds and thoughts. At present humankind is dominated by the solar plexus brain…note the cord extending between the solar brain and the heart. It is this cord, created by our own efforts, that the energies must rise into the heart chakra and be transmuted.
