Working with angels is a profound spiritual practice that many individuals engage in to receive divine guidance, healing, protection, and insight into the mysteries of the universe. UNLOCKING THE ART OF DYING
Ever since the human race experienced the great Fall-the descent of the soul into the field of matter-we have probed the mystery of death. Through the ages we have tried to lift the veil that separates our matter world from the spirit world-to father the enigma of the inexorable transition.
The first phase of the death journey heralds the dawning of the Clear Light Of Liberation. As the empirical consciousness of the objective world fades and kundalini rises through the shushumna, the initiate may pass into what would be recognized as a kind of hypnotic trance, not a descent into unconsciousness, but an ascent into superconsciousness. The Subjective mind opens to the dawning of the Clear Light of the Void.
The Clear Light is the reflection of consciousness devoid of all darkness, all limitations. It is that which is beyond all human description since it possesses neither height, width, depth, nor weight. It is purified perfection thinking like a dazzling sun upon the mirror of your mind, as your consciousness passes from the limitations of brain bondage to expanded awareness.
To see this clear light of the Void at the moment of death, you need to prepare for it during life. There are rules you must follow to accomplish this seeing, this tuning in, this merging with the Clear Light:
1. You must cultivate a serene, quiet mind during meditation. Not that the meditation must be absolutely complete and perfect in every way, but you should quiet your mind as much as possible, attempting to see the Clear Light during your lifetime. Which means that you are either attempting to up-draw the kundalini and experience the baptism of Holy Spirit, or down-draw grace from the over soul.
There is a secret to the art of dying. The soul faces the timeless moment of initiation into life’s most secret and sacred mystery.
2. You should pray daily. And truly feel a deep devotion and reverence toward the deity you are addressing -Jesus, Mary, Buddha, Shiva, God Himself. Such dedication will stir up the gift of God within (kundalini) and will eventually bring the sought-for baptism of Holy Spirit, although you may not be aware of it in your conscious mind.
3. Attempt to destroy all your karmic bonds. This implies that you try to right all your wrongs. This mean you should seek forgiveness from those you have hurt in those now dwelling on the other side and you should express forgiveness to those who have wronged you. Again, supplication may be expressed in prayer form. Realize you have probably created many monstrous thought forms, and these should be destroyed by thinking extraordinarily beautiful thoughts, especially prayers, the better to purify the dark thoughts of the past. “Overcome evil with good”, said the Master.
4. Attempt to die in full consciousness. It is possible to see the Clear Light even if your consciousness is drugged, but you are apt to miss it. If your consciousness is drugged you may be totally unaware of the Clear Light when it dawns, and passes out of the body seeing only the Secondary Light, which come just after passing from the body.
5. Avoid temptations of wrong doing. Recognizing that you are building, during life, the spirit body, which will inhabit, and that the atoms of that body will be built according to your thoughts and emotions as they are recorded in the heart seed atom, you should recognize wrong actions as they approach in this life and avoid them altogether. If you are tempted to do that which you think is wrong, remember that you may meet the mistake during your Bardo (crossover) Journey. So once you become aware of the coming of the Clear Light and what will happen at the moment of death, you subconsciously tend to avoid thoughts and actions that may have karmic attachments.
However, be very sure not to let society entangle you in the “guilt trap.” Much the world labels “wrong” may be very “right” in the sight of God. Always consider your motive for whatever the world may judge as wrong. If your motive was love, and if no one was hurt in the transaction, then don’t let the judgment of society make you feel guilty of a wrong.
Clear it with God. If you feel right with God, then never mind what the world thinks. The world is seldom qualified to judge the true record written in the heart-only God can read that Book of Life. Only God will judge, and He first judges motives, not actions.

THE BARDO S OUL P REPARATION FOR D EATH
BOOK OF THE DEAD PROCEDURE
Here is given a complete outline of the procedure to follow:
1. Assuming the dying pilgrim to be at home, orange light globes should light the death room.
2. Place the pilgrim facing the east, if possible.
3. Mantras may be chanted.
4. Sandalwood should be used if incense is to be burned.
5. Windows and doors should be closed to obtain the silence desired.
6. The last sacrament should be performed if it is to be performed — anointing with the Holy Chrism.
7. At the approach of death, the pilgrim should be turned on the right side and the arteries on each side of the throat lightly pressed (if such a procedure is desired).
8. The principal signal of approaching death is the ascending coldness that begins in the feet. The reader-guide may begin the first reading when this coldness becomes apparent, or when it is obvious that breathing is about to cease. It is to be hoped that the Astarian will revive as illumination approaches, describing Teachers and loved ones waiting to greet him or her, and the heavenly scenes opening to awakening perception.
9. THE SUPPLICANT TO THE MASTERS, should precede the Ritual reading.
10. The First Phase reading should continue during the first twenty minutes of death, covering the dawning of both the Clear Light and the Secondary Clear Light.
11. The Second Phase reading should span the next twenty minutes, totaling forty minutes in all.
12. Should it be impossible to hold the body following death, or if the body is absent for any reason, then the Ritual may read using the pilgrim’s picture or effigy and as many personal items as are deemed necessary to create an aura forceful enough to hold the pilgrim’s attention, regardless of the Phase of the Bardo being experienced.
13. At the end of forty minutes to an hour following death, the reading may cease, it being realized that the Astarian is now resurrected in his or her spiritual body. The physical body may now be properly dispatched.
14. Know that, even if, for whatever reason, you have not been made aware of a loved one’s death until hours or even days after the transition, read the Astarian Book of the Dead Ritual as soon as you learn of the passing. Again, the soul of the one you love hears you, knows of your blessing and of your efforts, and is greatly helped by the reading of this Ritual at any point on their Journey.
15. The shadows of grief should be interspersed with the realization that the pilgrim has not experienced extinction, but is raised into the glory of the mystical Resurrection. This is the life which is LIFE indeed — the Life Everlasting.

AWAITING RELEASE
Activities leading to the time or the last riles were fully related in the previous Lesson: use or an orange light in the death room: choice or sandalwood if incense is used: summoning a friend, in whom the dying Astarian has Confidence, to perform the last sacraments and read the death Ritual.
There will be Seventh Ray Astarians - those inclined toward ceremony - who will wish to employ the use or Holy Waler and Oil anointing the pilgrim in last sacraments. Such a ceremony produces a profound impact upon both the dying and the bereaved, as witnessed by the Catholic Church’s use or last rites since it’s inception. (ASTARA’S BARDO OIL MAY BE USED)
READING THE RITUAL
Whether or not anointing with Holy Chrism is performed, or whether or not the arteries are to be pressed, the reader should sit near the head of the pilgrim to begin the Ritual, and direct these words intimately to the one making the transition, speaking clearly and precisely. The guide should watch for signs of the approaching last moments of life, already described, especially an extreme coldness beginning with the feet which ascends slowly toward the heart, resulting in cessation of the heart beat and the departure of the heart seed atom.
If the body cannot be presents picture or effigy may be used, and the guide should speak as if the pilgrim were present and listening intently to every word. If this First Phase of the Ritual cannot be read before the pilgrim arrives at the moment of death, it is all right. It should be read anyway, for the departed one hears, and knows, and is greatly helped by it.
CONCLUSION
Because Astarians will not experience the gloom of Sidpa and the judgment, cease reading the Ritual at the end of forty minutes to an hour, For the Astarian, the Bardo is over. The pilgrim will have passed through the transition and already be awake in the new astral form. The physical body may be dispatched to the mortuary or released to hospital attendants as this time.
All Astarians will experience initiation in the Clear Light as soon as body and consciousness part, but some will enter higher degrees of the Light than others.
Third Degree Astarians, being familiar with the Bardo instructions and having acquired more spiritual perception through continued studies of the Mysteries, will obtain great power during the moments of death when the Clear Light, the Secondary Light, or the Second Phase, dawns.
Thus every Astarian, trained in the Bardo, should read it. hold to it, commit much of it to memory so that the words and meaning will not be forgotten.
Here ends the official Astarian Book of the Dead. I have met the duty placed upon me by the Hierarchy to relate the Bardo Thodol of Tibetan Buddhism to Christianity, and to the other major religions and spiritual cultures for the sake of the Western world. I have outlined a step-by-step procedure of the entire Ritual for your further understanding and convenience. (See pages 14-15).
To quote from the Tibetan Bardo Thodol: Those who meet with this doctrine are indeed fortunate. Save for then who have accumulated much merit and absolved many Obscurities, difficult is it to met with it. Even when met with. Difficult is it to comprehend it.
Liberation will be won through simply not disbelieving it upon hearing it. Therefore, treat this doctrine very dearly: it is the essence of all doctrines.
BARDO :
GLOSSARY OF TERMS
The state of existence intermediate between two lives.
Seventh Ray Astarian :
Solar Prana enters the splenic-naval chakra first. Mystics recognize these seven ray streams as the seven rays of physical energy in the body. The Seventh Ray represents Ceremonial Magic.
Effigy :
A sculpture or model of a person.
Chrism :
A mixture of oil and balsam, consecrated and used for anointing.
Supplicant :
One who supplicates. A petitioner, pleader or solicitor.
Ritual :
A religious or solemn ceremony consisting of a series of actions performed in a prescribed order.
Initiation :
The action of admitting someone into a private group or society.
Sidpa :
The illusionary or hallucinatory state of the Bardo.

QUESTION:
Concerning the evolution of the future of humanity, it is proposed the New age brings forth a new species. When we talk about the possible earmarks of the (5th Dimension. New Age) and what we could expect, the answers indicate a pure love and a deeper caring about one another and about ourselves, and a willingness to share. A willingness to network all over the planet, recognizing the trauma of change that is occurring all over the world. But still there is something that we as individuals and as a collective body might do. Are we really talking about the development o a new species of humankind?
EARLYNE:
I think it all relates to a cosmic transformation which will enable us to handle more energy, a new kind of life force. We’re not given this ability or this quality until we’re able to handle it correctly. To have a new species, there must be a modification in human genes -in the DNA. This modification will take place all over the world, and the new species will be higher initiates born of a higher DNA. Also, we must be aware that as those who belong in the Piscean vibration fall back, there are on the inner planes more highly evolved souls waiting to be born. As we see the being born on Earth in this Aquarian Age, we will become more aware of their wisdom, their love, because these will be innate qualities in these souls that have waited until this time to make their appearance again. Their births will probably presage the reappearance of the Christ and other avatars such as Moses, Buddha, Mohammed and Eastern Ascended Masters, with their energized spiritual forces.
But if there is to be a new species, there must be some kind of transformation. A transformation which would simply mean a higher plateau for the entire evolution of humankind. Since the new ones coming in are beyond light leaders of today, it means we will take a great leap forward. As the new ones with transformed DNA are born, and the new beings we will become gain critical mass on this Earth, we will certainly enter more dramatically into the New Age.
I have long been telling you that a new type of ether is entering our atmosphere-with extremely high frequencies. Well, these ethers are filled with a new type of lifeforce - we could even say a devic force. Devas are the elementals which indwell our plants, our trees, our mountains, even our waters. These new ethers are bringing in a higher type of devic elemental force, which is now entering our plant life. As we humans consume these “new” plants, and breathe these ethers, a transformation will occur in our individual DNA files. We will be transformed into a new species. John White is right. These food plants will contain a force which will cause the human consciousness to “see” into a higher dimension. Gradually this transformation in consciousness will become the norm as human beings enter a higher level of the Aquarian Age.
I must tell you this story about Buddha after his enlightenment. One of the monks asked, “Are you God?” He said, ‘’No.” Are you a saint?” “No.” And the monk said, “What are you?” He replied, “I’m awake.” He was a new species. So was Jesus whose father was “the Holy Ghost.” Jesus was the first of a species of the Aquarian Age. The human race will become awake.” Moses was “awake.” Mohammed was “awake.” So are the Eastern avatars, Krishna, Rama and others.

Astara’s 74 year Anniversary
Seventy four years ago Astara officially began unlocking the mysteries of the esoteric world to the general public, in a fresh and approachable way. The founders Robert and Earlyne, designed a new alternative way to assist seekers who were on the spiritual path. The Book of Life channelled Degree Lessons explained mystic truths and philosophies of the ancient wisdom schools, in modern terms. This month we celebrate the founding of Astara in our traditional way.
It is a time of fundraising to assist in the many platforms that help Astara reach people around the globe, either through seminars, quizzes, Youtube meditations, healings videos, prayer-petitions or live streams, these are all things that need funding.
It is a time of getting together to establish and anchor the Light for the upcoming year.

Astara art archives are fascinating and it is as interesting to see what was edited out and what was kept in the Book of Life Degree Lessons.
This image was sadly edited out however as we archive the original artwork from 1951 we now have the ability to share these hand illustrated works of art.
“A balanced activity of the three bodies — the etheric, astral and mental — is to be greatly desired. Today the astral-mental bodies are considerably more powerful in their operations and in their destructive activities, but when the desires and emotions become stabilized and the mind expresses quiet serenity, rather than worry, hate, anxiety and fear, people will discover that we constantly remain in a state of energetic wakefulness, needing little sleep to recuperate.
