OR a Canadian trainer, what could possibly be more exciting than winning the $1-million Queen’s Plate? Winning it twice. “You know what, it was overwhelming both times,” Josie Carroll said July 6th, a week and a half after her filly Inglorious blew past 16 rivals to win the 152nd Queen’s Plate by 2½ lengths. Just five years earlier, Carroll became the first female trainer to win the Queen’s Plate with Edenwold. “It’s an incredible feeling,” the 53-year-old Carroll said. “Growing up in Canada, this is the race you aspire to win.” She grew up in Scarborough, Ontario, and took an equine studies course at Humber College before taking a job with Canadian Hall of Fame trainer Mac
