PRODUCT FOCUS THE EQUINE INDUSTRY EMPLOYMENT APP Equi Role Global is the new app for the global equine industry. It is initially for recruitment and allows employers to “match” their vacancy requirements with the skills and experience of candidates around the world. Employers register with the app for free and can then create a role, which outlines the job title, skills required and extras, such as a weight restriction or accommodation. Once the employer creates a role, there is a subscription (£9.99 per month) to keep the vacancy open. The app is free for candidates. Candidates register their profile and area where they want to work, chosen industries and preferred roles. Then select their skills and upload their CV and photos and videos of their skills. The app ‘matches’ employer requirements to candidates with the required skills and chosen job. Employers can shortlist candidates, offer them interviews and offer them jobs via the app. Candidates can accept interviews and jobs via the app. Notifications are sent to all users when each of these activities happen, so everyone is kept up to date.
Equi Role Global is for all role types in all equine industries worldwide, including governing bodies, racing yards, studs, bloodstock sales companies and media etc. The android app will be out soon. Employers with an android phone can use the website until the android app is released. The app launched at the end of January 2018 and had 1,257 downloads in the first 6 weeks. 88% of those registered are candidates. Chat and news functions and an advertising platform will be added in due course. ● For further information please visit www.equiroleglobal.com App Store: Search Equi Role Global
STAY AT THE FRONT WITH SPILLERS® With an exceptional track record in feeding racehorses, backed by scientific support and a team of specialist Thoroughbred Nutritionists, SPILLERS has all the right credentials when it comes to nurturing winners. SPILLERS® HDF® Power Mix and Cubes are formulated using a blend of highly digestible fibre, controlled levels of cooked cereal starch and oil to support the athletic performance of horses in heavy training. The blend of highly digestible soya hulls and rapeseed oil reduces reliance on cereal starch thus helping to support optimum digestive and muscle health, without compromising on energy delivery. New research, that involved feeding SPILLERS® HDF Power Cubes together with a high oil, low starch, chopped alfalfa based feed to horses with significant equine squamous gastric disease (ESGD) showed significantly improved ESGD scores, not only following the omeprazole treatment but also after the treatment had stopped. This demonstrates that appropriate dietary change can help maintain better gastric health postmedical treatment. “This combination of restricted starch, high fibre, high energy cube with a high oil, low starch, chopped alfalfa based feed is my favourite option,
especially for more sensitive types”, says SPILLERS® Thoroughbred Nutritionist and ex professional flat jockey Charlotte Mitchell. “They provide safe calories for long lasting power and energy and support psychological and digestive wellbeing in the stable by extending eating time and we all know that healthy on the inside means a better chance of go fast stripes on the outside!” SPILLERS® has a team of four Thoroughbred Specialists who work closely with breeders and trainers to provide specialist nutritional support. All have extensive practical experience in the industry and can provide regular yard visits, which can be individually tailored to include forage analysis, a weighbridge service and a full nutritional consultancy and ration formulation as required.
