Advanced therapy equipment to help improve performance and recovery Many aspects of the horse’s management, training and wellbeing can be used to give them an edge. Therapy equipment as supplied by FMBs Therapy Systems is a valuable tool that can be integrated into any regime. The company sells a range of equipment that’s simple to use but incredibly advanced, allowing the horse to benefit from therapies such as pulsed electromagnetic field, massage and laser without being labour intensive. One of the most popular products is the Activo-Med Combi Pro, a rug that applies massage and PEMF across the horse’s body from poll to tail, including shoulder and thigh areas. The PEMF element encourages cellular repair and recovery plus improved venous blood flow, and the massage helps to improve muscle tone, overall condition and more. The rug can be used pre- and post-exercise, to support suppleness, performance and recovery. It can also be used for rehabilitation. The system is simple to use thanks to the battery-operated control box that comes with preset programmes. With new and secondhand systems available to buy and hire, there are plenty of options available. In addition to products to use on the
horse, the company also supplies a range of fitness equipment such as the ActivoMed Water Treadmill (pictured above). This facilitates controlled, supervised exercise for rehab and aerobic activity and can also be purchased with salt water, spa jets and chiller options. Full UK servicing
and back up available, as well as unrivalled professional training and support from qualified FEI vet Dr Matthias Baumann, with over 20 years aqua therapy experience. For more information, please visit www. fmbs.co.uk or call 01494 883433 to find out more about the equipment available.
New range of wormers from Akker Akker wormers were launched in late 2015 with the aim to introduce a competitive, wide range of equine anthelmintics.
