sanlorenzoyachts.co.uk

Sanlorenzo has a long history of building yachts that balance beauty, performance, and individuality. The latest addition to this legacy, SHE, captures that spirit perfectly.
Measuring 25.5 metres, SHE is more than just a new yacht - she’s a celebration of Sanlorenzo’s heritage and craftsmanship, created for owners who appreciate timeless design and quiet innovation.
The name says it all. SHE, short for Sanlorenzo Heritage, is a modern interpretation of classic Italian yachting style. Rather than the start of a new series, SHE stands alone: a one-off creation that showcases the shipyard’s skill, passion, and meticulous attention to detail.
Timeless design
At first glance, SHE’s clean lines and low profile evoke the glamour of 1960s yachting. But beneath that timeless silhouette lies a forwardthinking approach to design and technology. Every inch of the yacht has been shaped with purpose, with spaces that open, adapt, and flow to suit the owner’s lifestyle.
Inside, the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. Mahogany accents, soft fabrics, and a palette of warm neutral tones create a relaxed, modern feel. It’s an interior that nods to the past while remaining distinctly contemporary - uncluttered, comfortable, and beautifully made. The result is a yacht that feels just as inviting for a quiet family cruise as it does for entertaining friends on board.
A yacht designed to be lived in SHE’s exterior design reflects Sanlorenzo’s trademark balance of form and function. Her glass superstructure floods the interior with natural light, connecting every deck to the sea beyond. At anchor, the stern platform unfolds to form a spacious sea-level terrace - perfect
for relaxing, swimming, or launching the tender.
The main deck is laid out on a single level to maximise flow and comfort. The cockpit can be configured to suit any mood, from an open social space to a secluded retreat. The upper decks continue the theme of adaptable living, with a sunbathing area forward and a flexible upper lounge designed for long, lazy afternoons.
Thanks to Sanlorenzo’s innovative Smart Island system, furniture and layouts can be rearranged with ease, keeping the yacht’s open feel intact. Interiors with purpose
The interiors, designed by Lissoni & Partners, offer a clear sense of purpose and calm. Every space is functional, yet beautifully proportioned. The main salon opens directly onto the cockpit, creating a natural link between inside and out. Large windows keep the sea in constant view, reinforcing the yacht’s connection to the water.
A sculptural staircase leads down to a lower mezzanine that houses a dining area and galley, carefully positioned to benefit from natural light. The lower deck includes a full-beam owner’s suite aft, along with a VIP and guest cabin - all ensuite, refined, and comfortable. The layout ensures privacy for owners and guests, with dedicated crew quarters forward for smooth operation on board.
Throughout, materials and finishes are chosen not for show, but for how they feel and function at sea. It’s a yacht designed to be used, not just admired.
Hybrid power for a new era
SHE also represents a step forward in Sanlorenzo’s drive for sustainability. She is the first yacht in the fleet equipped with Volvo Penta’s hybrid IPS propulsion system, combining
diesel and electric power for greater efficiency and quieter operation.
In full-electric mode, SHE can cruise silently at up to 9 knots, ideal for entering harbours or anchoring with zero emissions. During conventional cruising, the batteries recharge automatically, ready for the next silent run. There’s also a performance ‘booster’ mode that adds electric power to diesel propulsion, improving acceleration and reducing engine load.
This flexible, efficient system makes for smooth, sustainable cruising without compromising performance or range - the perfect blend of technology and tradition.
From hull construction using biobased resins to efficient onboard energy management, SHE is built with the environment - and owner experience - in mind.
A yacht with real character
Every Sanlorenzo is unique, but SHE goes further to capture the very essence of what makes the shipyard special.
Her beauty lies not in extravagance, but in precision and restraint. For those who appreciate classic lines, modern comfort, and the satisfaction of owning something truly individual, SHE is a rare opportunity.
“SHE is a celebration of Italian yachting artistry, embodying Sanlorenzo’s core values of understated elegance, sustainable innovation, and enduring design,” concludes Nick Hatfield, Managing Director at Sanlorenzo Yachts UK.
“To experience this exceptional craftsmanship for yourself, join us at the boot Düsseldorf Boat Show, 17–25 January 2026, and begin your own journey with Sanlorenzo - where every yacht is as individual as its owner.”
“It’s been an extraordinary year of growth and achievement for Sanlorenzo Yachts UK. From receiving the Bluegame Sales Performance of the Year award to welcoming new talent and preparing to open our London showroom, every milestone reflects the dedication, expertise, and passion of our outstanding team.
This year also saw the launch of five remarkable new Sanlorenzo models - the SD132, SL110A, SX120, 74Steel, and SHE - each demonstrating the shipyard’s unrivalled craftsmanship, design vision, and commitment to sustainable innovation. Bluegame, too, introduced the groundbreaking BGF45, a cutting-edge foil-assisted model that redefines performance and efficiency on the water.
These launches represent a new era of design and creativity for both shipyards, and we’re immensely proud to share this momentum with our clients. I invite you to meet our award-winning team at boot Düsseldorf, 17-25 January 2026, and experience firsthand what makes Sanlorenzo and Bluegame truly exceptional.”
Experience true Italian artistry as you step onboard the Sanlorenzo SD90, where craftsmanship meets timeless design. Then, discover the new flagship from Bluegame, pushing the boundaries of innovation and performance in luxury yachting.
The expert team will be on hand for exclusive tours and personalised guidance throughout this incredible show in the heart of Düsseldorf.

In a bid to take full control over their manufacturing processes, the Rayglass Boats factory in Auckland, New Zealand, has successfully completed the rst in-house lamination of its 380 Wide Body Protector hull. This marks a major milestone in the company’s manufacturing capabilities and signals a new era of production for its large wide-bodied vessels.
This new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility also ensures greater ef ciency, quality, and scalability, which bene ts future buyers of Protector Boats. Renowned for rugged durability, stability and unrivalled performance, this reinforces the brand’s reliable track-record and excellent build standards.

It’s been an exciting and busy summer for Protector Boats with a surge in factory orders for larger models destined for both superyachts and professional race teams ahead of the 2026 season. The all-new Targa 410 Expedition is also now in build, set for delivery in mid-2026, marking a new evolution in long-range adventure capability for Protector Boats.

“A key driver behind building this facility was to bring the lamination of our larger boats in-house. It’s a game-changer for us. The team has done an outstanding job, and we’re thrilled with the results. This new capability means we can ramp up production and meet the growing demand for our wide body range.”

Meanwhile, the Protector Chase models continue to be the RIB of choice for SailGP teams, and with the America’s Cup heading to Naples in 2027, we’re expecting even more Protectors to head into production ready to support the world’s best sailors in their pursuit of victory.

Most RIBs are made for commuting and the occasional day trip. But if you want to set off on adventures further a eld, the Protector Targa 380 delivers everything you need and more.
Imagine island-hopping in search of the idyllic beaches, exploring remote diving spots, or anchoring in a secluded spot for onboard cocktails and a BBQ – the Targa 380 delivers the perfect mix of power, comfort, and self-suf ciency that expands the boundaries of on-water adventures. Originally developed for commercial use in New Zealand’s toughest waters, Protector Boats’ DNA is all about strength, control, and unrivalled capability. The Targa 380’s deck layout is designed for maximum exibility. One day it’s loaded with paddleboards and dive gear for a fun family day out. The next, it’s the ultimate entertainment hub with a wet bar, grill, premium sound system, and a sun lounge large enough for everyone to unwind with sundowner cocktails.

For watersports enthusiasts, the Targa 380 is a dream: it has plenty of torque for tow foiling or wakeboarding and still offers ample deck space (9.5’ internal beam and walk around deck to the bow) to store all your kit, rig up the toys, and get ready to hit the water. The wide swim platform and ladder also make reboarding easy after a dive or swim, and the stable hull feels rock-solid when stationary or at anchor.

Andrews, Protector Boats Brand Manager, UK & Europe

We were delighted to represent McConaghy Multihulls at Cannes Yachting Festival, where we showcased the world premiere of the MC68 cruising catamaran. Combining cutting-edge carbon construction with high-performance sailing, this performance multihull is built for fast passages and comfortable living.
ancasta.com/MC68

It’s been a fantastic year for McConaghy with many momentous milestones reached. A new MC63P has just hit the water after leaving the factory in Hong Kong, and the first built MC68 received outstanding feedback at the Cannes Yachting Festival before departing on an incredible round-the-world voyage. We are also delighted to introduce you to the new McConaghy Sapphire Series which promises to deliver a new standard of luxury, volume, and performance.

For those who want more from their time at sea – more speed, more sophistication, and more individuality – the new McConaghy Sapphire Series delivers.
Crafted by one of the world’s most respected yacht builders, McConaghy’s Sapphire Range combines cuttingedge performance with contemporary elegance in a bluewater catamaran designed to explore the world’s oceans.
Here, our McConaghy Brand Manager, Hannah Le Prevost, guides us through the main features of this exciting new multihull range.
Lightweight power
The Sapphire 80 catamaran is built with advanced carbon hybrid construction and features a full carbon rig, delivering exceptional strength while remaining remarkably lightweight. In fact, these multihulls are up to 50% lighter than others in their class, resulting in faster acceleration, sharper handling, and effortless cruising performance.

With retractable centerboards and a fine-tuned hull form, the Sapphire Series delivers outstanding upwind ability and can reach average speeds in the high teens, or even more in the right conditions. This is performance sailing redefined: fast, efficient, thrillingly responsive, and with sophisticated style.
Contemporary design
Inside and out, the Sapphire Series radiates modern sophistication. The styling is sleek and architectural, with a minimalist aesthetic that complements its technical prowess.

Expansive flybridge and cockpit areas are designed for sociable living, featuring an integrated hard Bimini over both the forward and aft cockpits. This provides excellent protection from the sun while maintaining an open, airy feel. Press-button side windows also transform dining zones into open-air lounges with ease.
The interiors showcase McConaghy’s hallmark craftsmanship – premium materials, custom finishes, and refined detailing that create an atmosphere of understated luxury. Owners can also tailor every element, from layout to décor, ensuring their yacht is as individual as they are.
Sustainable efficiency

The superb lightweight efficiency of the Sapphire 80 means it requires less power than other similarly sized catamarans, reducing dependence on large generators and heavy batteries. Additionally, optional integrated solar panels can provide sustainable energy without compromising design.
Effortless sailing
The McConaghy Sapphire 80 has also been configured to enhance the joy of sailing, blending modern design, intelligent technology, and uncompromising comfort. Exploring under sail is made enjoyable for all levels of experience, even when short crewed, by a state-of-theart, electric-powered sail handling system. This advanced automation simplifies sail deployment, reefing, and trimming, for effortless cruising under sail.

The magic of Dame Ellen MacArthur’s cancer charity isn’t in the sailing itself, but the environment being on a boat creates. Yet for those who do fall in love with being on the water, there are opportunities to develop their sailing skills – both for their own benefit and for other young people living through and beyond cancer.
This summer, 651 young people living through and beyond cancer joined transformational sailing and outdoor adventures at the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.
The work that goes into these trips – 37 in all from May to September – is immense. It is vital every one of those young people feels safe, supported, and inspired to believe in their brighter future during their time with the charity.
Volunteers are key to achieving this. That’s why the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust has introduced annual Mate training, comprising RYA Watch Leader and RYA Competent Crew courses. This is for volunteers ready to take on more responsibility, develop their sailing skills, and feel more equipped to take care of young people on the water.
The training took place at the charity’s bases in East Cowes and Largs, with nine volunteers taking part across two groups.
One of those volunteers was Vic Sanches, 28, who was supported by the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust each year from 2013 to 2017, after she was diagnosed with craniopharyngioma, a type of brain tumour, in 2008.
She said: “Knowing I can be part of making a young person’s trip safe and fun as a Mate on board means the world to me. My goal is to one day have my Day Skipper, so this course is a step towards where I want to be.
“As someone who has been turned down multiple times from sailing schools due to my medical conditions, having the opportunity to take on such an important role meant so much to me.”
Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust sailing crews are made up of a Skipper, a Crew Leader, and a Mate. Crew Leaders prioritise young people’s enjoyment and involvement on board, but don’t require any sailing experience, while Mates assist the Skipper and ensure the safety of the crew and young people.
Becky Ellis, Deputy Operations Manager and Skipper, led the training course from East Cowes. She said: “The Mate training courses we ran were fab to upskill our volunteers for future trips.
“It was great to run two courses simultaneously so the volunteers could concentrate on the right skills for where they are on their sailing journey and feel confident to help young people and the Skipper during trips.
“We completed loads of skills and drills under sail and engine, taking it in turns doing every role. This way, they can feel confident to help teach the young people how to sail, get the boat prepared, come on and off the pontoons and put to bed each day.”

Ammarah Lorgat completed the training last year and sailed as a Mate for the first time in 2025. She first joined a trip in 2019 after having been diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma, a kind of blood cancer, in 2017.
She said: “The best part was transferring my skills to the young people, and having more confidence to teach them knots and answer questions about sailing. The course really enriched my experience and allowed me to be a better volunteer.
“I enjoyed the opportunity to take part in the training as it is something I wouldn’t normally have the chance to do. It was engaging and it related to the work we do with young people.”
The two RYA courses are designed to progress volunteers from Crew Leaders to Mates, strengthening the team while providing volunteers with a sailing qualification that benefits them in their own lives too.
It also provides the opportunity to increase diversity amongst the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust volunteer pool, including addressing a gender imbalance. Typically, its volunteers with sailing qualifications skew male, but all bar one of the volunteers who took part in the training were female. This is so important: if young people don’t see themselves represented in the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust team, they won’t feel the Trust is for them.
Krissi Cartright-Riley, Volunteer and Team Development Manager, said: “It is so vital to have a flexible and versatile volunteer community so our trip teams are geared up to have the biggest impact possible on young people.
“Being able to run this training means we get to work with volunteers who already know and understand what we do and provide them with opportunities to improve their sailing and gain qualifications which they might not be able to access otherwise.”
It is one of the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust’s core ambitions to ‘keep the magic’ as it grows, so more young people can experience a life-changing sailing adventure; this means, as the charity grows, none of the transformational impact on young people’s lives is lost. Investing in and developing its volunteer base has been, and continues to be essential.
Young people often miss out on school and work opportunities due to their diagnosis and treatment.
The Mate training is another chance to learn new skills and take part in new experiences. They can enhance their CV and job applications from the responsibilities they take on as Crew Leaders or Mates.
By progressing existing Crew Leaders to Mates, more Crew Leader spaces also become available.
This makes it possible for even more young people to return as volunteers. Of 372 current volunteers, almost a third (117) were supported by the Trust after treatment. This is vital for young people who have more recently finished treatment seeing what life can be like in the future and having aspirational role models to look up to and talk to.
Next summer, hundreds more young people looking for somewhere to turn after a devastating diagnosis will set sail with the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust for the first time. Thanks to this training, the volunteers who guide and inspire them will be more prepared than ever to steer them towards their brighter future.
Young people living through and beyond cancer need somewhere to turn, and the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust has to be there for them. You can be the reason a young person feels inspired to believe in their brighter future.

Expert advice from Neil Brinsdon, MD of Spencer Rigging
As winter arrives, the atmosphere on the water begins to shift. For some, the journey continues as they head for warmer latitudes and new horizons, and now is the time for a thorough rig inspection before setting sail offshore. Or for those staying closer to home, winter presents an equally important opportunity: to protect your yacht’s rigging and hydraulic systems before the cold, damp, and blustery winds take hold.
Here Neil Brinsdon, MD of Spencer Rigging, part of the Ancasta Group, shares his advice on how prioritising a few key rigging maintenance steps now can save you time, expense, and potential trouble next season.
Why winterising your rigging matters
“Winter is when small issues become big ones,” says Neil. “Moisture, temperature changes, and neglect are a bad combination. Even the best materials will deteriorate if left unchecked.”
Rigging and hydraulics are fundamental to your yacht’s safety and performance. Freezing temperatures, salt-laden air, and periods of inactivity can all accelerate corrosion and wear. A proactive approach to winter care will keep systems reliable and ready for when you return to sailing in the spring.
Standing Rigging
Even the most robust standing rigging needs regular inspection. At a minimum, every yacht should undergo a professional rig check once a year, while race boats or yachts cruising offshore may need more frequent assessments.
“A professional inspection gives you a complete picture,” explains Neil. “It’s about identifying early signs of fatigue - hairline cracks, loose fittings, or corrosion - before they turn into failures.”
Spencer Rigging’s expert team provides impartial mast and rigging assessments for yachts of all types, with detailed reports and maintenance records to support long-term care. Or if you prefer to carry out your own rig checks, ensure you examine wire rigging for frayed strands or rust, especially where it enters the swage. Split pins and shackles should be secure and inspect spreader roots and masthead sheaves for wear or movement.
After inspecting your rigging, wash everything with mild soap and water to remove salt deposits, then apply a marine-grade lubricant to prevent corrosion. Check the rig tension settings and adjust if needed - proper tension reduces fatigue and movement in strong winds. Every few years, consider unstepping the rig for a full overhaul. Spencer Rigging can manage this process end to end, including safe storage and recommissioning in the spring.
Your running rigging - lines, sheets, and halyards - also need attention before winter storage. Inspect ropes for damage, particularly in high-stress areas such as around winches, clutches and blocks.
It is also worth cleaning lines thoroughly with fresh water and a mild detergent to remove salt crystals, which degrade fibres over time. Once clean and dry, coil and store lines neatly in a dry, well-ventilated space - never in damp lockers - to prevent mildew or stiffness.
If you need to replace any of your lines due to advanced wear, Spencer Rigging supplies custom-made running rigging from leading brands such as Gottifredi Maffioli, Liros, and Kingfisher Ropes, tailored and hand-finished to suit your yacht’s requirements.
On many modern yachts, hydraulics underpin various sailing controls, including backstays, furlers, booms and winches, which require periodic checks, and winter downtime is the perfect opportunity to carry out professional servicing.
“Hydraulics are often out of sight, but they shouldn’t be out of mind,” says Neil. “Small leaks, dirty oil, or perished hoses can all lead to failures that are expensive and inconvenient to fix once you’re back on the water.”
To ensure your yacht’s hydraulics are working efficiently, we recommend booking in a qualified technician to check the hoses, fittings, and connectors for leaks or wear. They should also service the hydraulics including flushing the systems, replacing filters and oil, and checking the seals. Finally, appropriate lubricants need to be applied to all moving parts for smooth reactivation come spring.
If you have Navtec or Reckmann systems onboard, Spencer Rigging’s technicians are factory-trained, offering a level of precision that ensures lasting reliability.
Caring for your yacht’s rigging during the off-season isn’t just about protection, it’s also an investment in performance and longevity. As Neil puts it, “A well-maintained rig and hydraulics system not only make your boat safer, but they also make it a pleasure to sail.”
Whether you’re planning a large winter refit project or simply want to ensure your rigging and hydraulics are in top condition, the expert team at Spencer Rigging is ready to help you prepare your boat for the new season ahead.

Following the tremendous success of its 2025 revival, the Admiral’s Cup is once again inviting the world’s top yacht owners and sailing teams to the starting line. The 2027 edition promises world-class competition that combines technical challenges, spirited rivalry, and the chance to race alongside the best sailors in the world.
Hosted from the RORC Cowes Clubhouse and based at Cowes Yacht Haven from 13 to 28 July 2027, the event will deliver an iconic combination of Solent inshore battles, offshore challenges, and the legendary Rolex Fastnet Race.
Since its founding in 1957, the Admiral’s Cup has been revered as the pinnacle of international offshore team racing, and its return in 2025 rekindled that legacy with spectacular racing amongst 30 boats from 17 nations.
Building on this momentum, the 2027 Notice of Race confirms a return of the proven two-boat team format and retains the successful scoring structure, including double points for the Short Offshore Race and triple points for the Rolex Fastnet Race. Additional refinements include adjusted rating bands, new draft limits, enhanced equipment protocols, and increased youth and female crew requirements.

For yacht owners ready to progress their yacht racing to the next level, there has never been a better time to invest in a campaign. The 2027 Admiral’s Cup is expected to deliver firstclass racing, spirited camaraderie, and the chance to be part of one of the world’s most prestigious sailing events.
“The 2025 Admiral’s Cup exceeded every expectation, from the depth of the fleet to the spirit on the dock, it reminded everyone why this event has such a special place in offshore racing history”
“The RORC team is focused on continuity, consistency, and quality. We want yacht clubs to feel confident about committing early, knowing that the 2027 Admiral’s Cup will deliver the same exceptional standard of competition and camaraderie that defined 2025. Hopefully, the 2027 edition will attract an even broader international entry to Cowes.”
– Steve Cole, Race Director, Admiral’s Cup

For yacht owners, the Admiral’s Cup has not only sharpened the focus of their campaigns, but the return of the famed Sardinia Cup now adds valuable continuity, providing an irresistible opportunity in the off years of the Admiral’s Cup. From 31 May to 7 June 2026, the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda’s flagship regatta brings back another of the sport’s most esteemed team competitions.
Racing from Porto Cervo, the Sardinia Cup mirrors the same two-boat team format as the Admiral’s Cup, with two mediumto-long distance coastal courses and three days of windward–leeward racing – a fantastic blend of fast-paced tactical and endurance challenges.
First held in 1978, the Sardinia Cup alternated in evennumbered years with the Admiral’s Cup and attracted some of Italy’s most legendary yachts. From the early triumphs of Vanina, Yena, and Dida V, to Brava’s run of victories across the 1980s and ’90s, the regatta was a spectacular showcase of toptier racing.
Returning in 2026 after a 14-year hiatus, the Sardinia Cup is not only a must-do event on the international racing calendar, it also presents teams with a chance to test their yachts, refine crew coordination, and race in one of the world’s most beautiful and challenging venues in preparation of the 2027 Admiral’s Cup.

Ready to compete? We’ll
If you’re looking to compete in these events, we can help you secure a race yacht that meets the required rating bands while offering something extra special. Beyond our online portfolio, we hold numerous off-market options through our exclusive owner network and sell approximately 20% of racing yachts this way each year, so we highly recommend a conversation to explore every opportunity and find your ideal match.
In addition to the used sector, we are now in the design phase of a new 42ft offshore/inshore racer, to be built at McConaghy Boats. With strong market demand in the small-boat classes for these prestigious new events, our priority is delivering a top-tier design without the inflated 2025 price tags currently circulating.
If you’re considering a new build or significantly optimising an existing design, we’d be delighted to share our latest buildcost study and show you what’s possible.

Winter can often feel dreary as you yearn for the return of warmer days, allowing you to enjoy fun times on the water again. However, this is actually the best time of year to give your boat some extra care and attention. By doing so, you’ll ensure everything goes smoothly when you set sail again in the spring.
By taking the time to focus on maintenance, refit, and repairs, you can enhance your boat’s performance, safety, and overall comfort, as well as protect your investment in the long term.
Need a bit of inspiration to get you started? Here are some top tips from Paul Hardy, Technical Sales and Service Manager at Ancasta Yacht Services, on the best ways to improve your boat for an enjoyable season on the water in 2026.
The condition of your yacht’s teak deck can significantly enhance its overall appearance and performance. If the planks show moderate signs of wear, a professional clean can help restore the teak’s natural colour, while sanding can smooth out rough or weathered surfaces. If the caulking between the planks is damaged or cracked, replacing it can prevent leaks and improve the deck’s aesthetics. Additionally, for small areas of damage, replacing the affected planks is a cost-effective solution.
If your deck is severely worn (less than 4mm thick), replacing it with new teak or a modern alternative might be necessary. Over the years, marine decking materials have evolved, moving from traditional wood to low-maintenance synthetics.
One of our most popular decking options is Flexiteek. Made from 2G polymer pellets, it is manufactured into planks, sanded to bring out the grain, and then vinyl-welded together to create a strong, durable bond. The result is a very realistic-looking teak substitute that is long-lasting, weather-resistant, and lowmaintenance. Ancasta Yacht Services is the South Coast’s exclusive Flexiteek installer, so please speak to us for more details..

Winter provides the perfect opportunity to haul your boat out of the water and inspect the hull for problems that may have surfaced during the season. After a thorough clean, we check for blisters, cracks, and any other damage before carrying out any necessary repairs – catching issues before they become more problematic is vital and saves costs in the long run.
Regular antifouling is also crucial to protect the hull from barnacles, and when combined with a mid-season washdown, it will ensure your clean hull delivers the best performance on the water.
Checking the anodes is essential, too, as they can become worn over time. Replacing anodes when they are less than 50% of their original size will prevent corrosion of through-hull fittings, trim tabs, lifting gear, engines, and sail drives.
Lastly, don’t forget to polish the topsides. UV damage and the build-up of salt and grime can cause paint to fade. At AYS, we take a comprehensive approach to this, scrubbing the gelcoat with a cleaning compound, buffing it to a glossy finish, and applying a protective wax.
Bow thrusters are a popular winter upgrade for owners looking to reduce the stress of berthing, especially when sailing short-handed. As the UK Distributor for Jet Thruster and Approved Gold Installers for Lewmar, we have an experienced team of boat builders who can install a range of thruster options, including jet, tunnel, and retractable.
Jet Thruster’s options are designed to simplify the docking and manoeuvring using water pressure to create powerful jets that instantly push the yacht in the direction you want it to go.
This flexible system is easy to install, can be added to the bow and stern, and is suitable for both shallow and deep-keeled boats. The thruster nozzles sit flush with the hull to reduce drag, and there are no moving parts under the waterline for extra safety.

Engine servicing during the winter months is one of the most important jobs when it comes to ensuring your boat starts first time and runs smoothly in the spring. Plus, a comprehensive professional service will help prevent breakdowns on the water and extend your engine’s lifespan.
If your boat felt underpowered this year, you might also consider upgrading to a larger or more fuel-efficient engine. This is an excellent time of year to carry out a replacement to avoid downtime during the summer. AYS is an Approved Dealer and Service Centre for Volvo, Yanmar and Nanni engines, and we’re always happy to discuss the most cost-effective solution for your boat.
Whether you own a motor or sailing yacht, now is the time to carry out essential maintenance and upgrades. Don’t wait another season to sort out an irritating niggle or upgrade an out-of-date system.
If you don’t have the time to do it yourself, we still have a few slots available to help you get your boat ready for the spring, so please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
