Harvard Park Day NurseryFeltham: November Newsletter 2014. News from the Managers Nicki and Tracey –

On Friday 7th November, wear something pink and donate £1 to help raise money and awareness for breast cancer. We have fundraisers throughout the year and this is one that is close to our hearts. We will be holding a bring and buy cake sale so please feel free to donate cakes (please avoid nuts) and also to buy a few  Please collapse all buggies! It is a health and safety issues that we are continuously addressing. Health and Safety will tell us to stop allowing buggies into the building if this continues to happen. Now, for a little bit of sad news, Hannah in Freedom Zone is spreading her wings and leaving the Harvard Park nest. Her last week will be the week of the 17th.  Small request from all rooms, if you have any old birthday/Christmas/thank you cards that you’re going to throw in recycling, please could we have them as we can use them to develop our cutting skills. Also we are looking at developing our outside space, if you have any plant pots/seeds/logs/statues that you’re not using please may we have them. Our garden area is looking a little unloved and the practitioners have asked us to make this request on their behalf.

News from Deputy Carol- We love that our children are being physical when coming into

nursery but can we please discourage bikes as we do not have the space to hold them. We do not want to be put in the uncomfortable position of saying no to buggies, scooters and bikes by health and safety in the workplace. Thank you for your co-operation. From 10 th – 15th of this month we will be looking at and embracing National Nursery Rhyme week! The children will be engaging in lots of musical singing and dancing to build on their self esteem. So if they come home singing a nursery rhyme you haven’t heard before just give it a little listen and applause 

News from Baby Studio –Sana,Mary, Gurpreet, and Nabila Marisa and Mandy:

We would like to start by welcoming new babies into our room: David was missed off of the last welcome, so welcome David and his family and we apologies. Our topic for this month is ‘Physical Development’. We will be doing lots of activities which focus on gross and fine motor skills with our babies and toddlers; Gross being large movements such as walking or taking steps for our non-walkers and running safely or kicking a ball for our walkers. Fine motor skills is focusing on the smaller movements like pincer grips to pick up smaller toys or making small marks with smaller paint brushes. We are planning lots of outdoor play and incorporating jumping, running, climbing and walking using the aid of the large wooden blocks as well as introducing push a longs and tricycles. We are also looking to do lots of soft play and tummy time for our non-walkers. This will encourage and develop their crawling and climbing skills. To develop their fine motor skills we will be engaging in puff pastry play, artificial sand play, painting and sticking. A few Reminders: • Can you please remember to sign your child in and out everyday? • Can we please ask parents to label their child’s clothes, water cups and milk bottles? • Please provide nappies and wipes as soon as possible when asked by your keyworker • Can we please ask that your provide 2 bottles/cups if you want your child to have milk and
