FIRST TEAM MANAGER
PETCH & BOOTS
We would firstly like to angers, their committee and supporters to the P will be a good test for our side given Thurnby’ winning their last two games
We look to bounce back from the disappointing defeat to Magna 73 last weekend. With Magna being the league’s top goal scorers, we got through to half time looking solid and on reflection could’ve been in front. It was a disappointing second half having conceded a soft goal, but the lads showed character to equalise, only for us to concede again resulting in a 2-1 defeat. The objective for the squad and the challenge now is to become consistent in their performances and results, as we have already shown in a short period of time that we can compete against anyone in the league on our day
What you will get with this squad is the willingness to work hard and learn from previous performances, and on the back of the disappointing result the lads have worked hard in training this week to put in a good performance and hopefully a positive result on Saturday.
As well as working hard on the pitch, massive credit has to go to the committee off the pitch as they are always working hard to keep moving the club forward The big development this week is securing Pall-Ex as part of the Ellistown family! This means a name change for our ground, which moving forward will be known as the Pall-Ex Stadium We would also like to take this opportunity to once again thank the supporters who have attended the first three games in good numbers, and we hope to continue to grow the attendance and we hope you enjoy your afternoon at the Pall-Ex Stadium.

SAM OUSE
We welcome Thu to Ellistown today. They are sitting ove us in the table so this will be a great game.
Last week’s performance and result really wasn’t good enough, so we really want this fixture to put things right. We don’t want to be this inconsistent team who wins one and loses one like how we have started the season.
I believe with the players we have that we can put a good run together and build consistency and push us up the table.
We appreciate all of your support and hope we can get back to winning ways today.

A frustrating day for Ellistown FC young chargers as we took a step back in a disappointing 2-1 home defeat against Magna 73
Buoyed by an excellent 3-2 win v Hathern last time out, it should have been a confident side that took to the pitch against Magna who score and concede for fun.
Instead, it was a disjointed team who during the 1st half struggled to keep the ball and were giving away to many dangerous set pieces to Magna.
We did have the ball in the net midway through the 1st half when Sonny Sheasby scored when one on one against the keeper. Unfortunately, the assistant ref disallowed it for a close offside.
Magna had the better chances of a 1st half that won't last too long in the memory banks.
EFC 0-0 M73
Ellistown FC started the 2nd half on the front foot and when they managed to keep the ball, played some neat football but could not carve out the chances there play deserved
This allowed Magna to stay in the game and like the 1st gradually knock Ellistown out of their stride The plan worked as Ellistown reverted back to the 1st half performance and struggled to win battles across the pitch while continuously losing the ball in position
This caused the defence to panic and Magna took advantage on 60 mins when Fin Thomas took advantage of a defensive mix-up to walk the ball into the net
EFC 0-1 M73 60 mins
The goal fired up Ellistown as we started to play again and only a fantastic save from Magna's keeper Harry Johnson stopped Sonny equalising on 70 mins You knew then this was not our day We did equalise on 74 mins when from a

corner the Maga keeper collided with this team mate Matt Richmond that resulted in the ball bouncing off Matt into the goal and him hobbling off with a nasty ankle injury
EFC 1-1 M73 74 mins
Momentum should now have been with Ellistown but it was Magna who took control of the game and scored the winner on 80 mins when an Arjuna Govia shot deflected off Chris Sykes and into the net.
EFC 1-2 M73 80 mins
This time, Ellistown could not get going again and another close offside stopped Magna scoring a 3rd. The final whistle went with a disappointed Town side knowing that Magna deserved the 3pts and the players not doing themself justice.
EFC 1-2 M73 FT
Summary
Another learning curve for Ellistown as they adjust to Senior League Premier football Today's lesson is that you have to perform for 90 mins and not in patches against streetwise and experienced teams
We regroup and go again next week against another hard working team in Thurnby Rangers We wish Matt Richmond well in his recovery from injury

ELLISTOWN FC
ELLISTOWN FC
The club was established as United Collieries Football Club in 1993 by a merger of Bagworth Colliery and Ellistown Colliery.
The new club joined Division One of the Leicestershire Senior League. In 1996–97 they finished seventh in Division One and were promoted to the Premier Division.
The club finished bottom of the Premier Division in their first season, but avoided relegation. After being renamed Ellistown in 1998, they finished in the bottom two of the Premier Division for the next two seasons.
Although they were relegated to Division One at the end of the 1999–2000 season, they were Division One runners-up the following season and promoted back to the Premier Division.
In 2007 Ellistown were founder members of the East Midlands Counties League. They finished bottom of the league in 2011–12, and at the end of the following season the club merged with fellow East Midlands Counties League club Ibstock United to form Ellistown & Ibstock United, which played at Ellistown's ground.
However, in 2015 a new Ibstock United was formed. The merged club finished bottom of the East Midlands Counties League in 2016–17, failing to win a league game all season, and were relegated to the Premier Division of the Leicestershire Senior League, where they would play alongside Ibstock United. In July 2017 the club was renamed Ellistown.

Ramble Round the Everards Premier
Week ending 31st August by Mason Norton
In the Everards Brewery Premier Division this weekend, Desford stayed top as they returned to winning ways in a tight game at Highfield Rangers In the first half, Raijaun Morris-Laing scored for the hosts whilst Louis Rood riposted for the visitors, the scores level at the break, before Jake McLeary scored the winner in the second half, Desford winning 2-1 Aylestone Park Reserves went second with the comeback of the day. They were 2-0 down at Sileby Town thanks to goals from Chris Shaw and Mitch Woodbine, but it was a totally different story after the break, as Shea Bates, Bayem Onelum and sub Evan Kane turned it round for the Park, who came out 3-2 winners Anstey Town are third after a 4-0 win at home to Burbage & Huncote, Joseph Hartopp scoring in the first half before the floodgates opened in the second period, with an OG, and subs Harry Burton and Conor Jackson giving the scoreline extra varnish, B&H remain bottom of the table.
Just above Burbage at the bottom on goal difference only are Friar Lane & Epworth, who were thumped 6-2 at home to Leicester Atletico, for whom Kosisochukwu Ezeja scored a hat-trick, Khalid Mohamud a brace and sub Mohammed Hogsade got on the scoresheet, Atletico scoring four times in the last 25 minutes, Solomon Agyeman scoring twice for Friar Lane Cottesmore are also still searching for their first points, after they lost 2-0 at Thurnby Rangers, Farran Pope and Connor King scoring for Thurnby in the second half.
It was a tense game at Pasture Lane, as AFC North Kilworth travelled the full length of the county to play Hathern, only to lost to an 84th minute tap-in from Kai Williams for the home team after NK ran out of steam in the later stages. Hathern are in fourth, two points behind Desford. The other game in the Prem saw Ellistown's inconsistent start continue, as they lost 2-1 at home to Magna 73, Fin Thomas giving Magna the lead, before a freak own goal put Ellistown back on level terms and left Magna skipper Matt Richmond injured and needing to be helped from the field Magna though regained their composure and Arjuna Govia scored the winner late on to give them all three points.
Everyone at Ellistown Football Club wish Sam and the team at Oakland International the best on luck on their weekend 200 mile bike ride from Brighton to Warwick in aid Molly Olly charity.
