The concept of the Retriever® reel was well in the works when the first patent was granted to my father in 1979. Many things have changed since then, except our unyielding desire to provide safe, hassle-free gear for a great bowfishing experience.

AMS is the only manufacturer providing quality gear for crossbow users. These accessories allow mounting of Retriever® reels to crossbows and associated picatinny rail systems.

Sleek-X™ Crossbow Mount

This non-handed mount allows the installation of any Retriever® reel to a crossbow. Just mount the base block, install the handle with the t-screw and attach the reel. A predrilled 5/16”-24 hole works great for mounting floats and other accessories to the lower end of the mount. If the crossbow has a picatinny mount, you will need to order the picatinny adapter shown below.

Crossbows with picatinny rail systems will require this adapter to use the Sleek-X™ mount. Simply clamp this machined, anodized aluminum adapter to your rail and mount the Sleek-X™ to it.

Big Game Float Systems

Our two-piece float systems utilize the bow’s stabilizer bushing and are meant to be used with the Retriever® Pro Big Game reel. When your game comes to the end of the line, it will tug the float from the bow allowing

to track it.

Big Game Chaos® FX Arrow

Big Game arrows are necessary when going after game that is likely to break shafts. These 5/16” diameter arrows utilize the Ring System which allows the line to remain in front of the arrow rest on the shot, while also being tied to the point. Should a thrashing gator break the arrow, you’ll still be able to retrieve your game as long as the point is embedded in the hide.

We’ve swapped the arrows from our Big Game Kit, shown left, for bolts and added our Sleek-X™ Crossbow mount. If your crossbow has a picatinny rail mount, you’ll also need our M109-PCT adapter on page 14.

These 22/64” diameter bolts utilize the Ring System which allows the line to remain in front of the crossbow, while also being tied to the point. Our points and tips are machined from high-grade stainless steel and fully manufactured at our facility in Stratford, Wisconsin. AMS is committed to providing the absolute straightest, most consistent arrow shafts available. Only after a shaft passes inspection is it nocked and drilled to accept the AMS EverGlide® Safety Slide® or Ring System. All shafts are 5/16” diameter, solid fiberglass.

AN INDUSTRY CHANGING INVENTION

Twenty years ago we patented our EverGlide® Safety Slide®. Because we focus on safety in every product we manufacture, we will NEVER sell an arrow without an AMS EverGlide® Safety Slide® system. This system is an alternative to the dangerous practice of tying line to the tail of an arrow. Instead, the line is tied directly to the safety slide. If used properly, it ensures that your line will remain out in front of the arrow rest and away from the bowstring on the shot.

AMS Ring System

ARROW RESTS BUILT FOR BOWFISHING

Bowfishing is a fast, unpredictable sport that requires equipment that can keep up with its demands. AMS arrow rests first consider the fast-action and swing shooting that bowfishers do. Bows are drawn and arrows flung faster than you can imagine, so arrow rests that can control the arrow are a necessity. Secondly, they need to support the weight of the solid fiberglass bowfishing arrows. All AMS rests can be used by right- or left-hand shooters.

Tidal Wave® Rest

It doesn’t matter if you’re shooting at fast moving fish, the design of the Tidal Wave® keeps the arrow in place for any shot. The arrow can be loaded through the rest or snapped in from the side. An internal spinning roller provides additional arrow control during the shot and reduces wear on the arrow shaft.

Traditional Mount Kit

Mount AMS Retriever® reels and bowfishing accessories to traditional bows without drilling or tools. Simply position the bracket on your bow and tightly pull the straps around the bow and secure over the stainless steel pins. Mount to the side of the riser to attach an AMS Retriever® reel or strap to the front to use the 5/16”-24 hole for a stabilizer, reel seat or float.
