The Reason Behind Establishing AMSA-Phil Programs

Each of the member organizations in AMSA-Phil have the autonomy to plan and implement their own projects and activities. There have been collaborations and successful projects which gained national and international prominence because of its innovation and sustainability. While some of these activities are given exposure and awareness in the National Medical Students’ Conference, which is an avenue for all the participants to showcase their activities, during the GAWAD AMSA competition. There is no established database for all of the activities that were implemented at the local level.

AMSA-Phil Programs was launched to assure monitoring, evaluation, and technical support from the Executive Board and the National Officers. The 13 Programs were patterned after the IFMSA Programs with each theme that will fit the needs of the AMSA-Phil member organizations. The Activity and Report form will serve as 30 |

a quality assurance check on the impact of each activity.

The three pillars of AMSA-Phil: Knowledge, Action, and Friendship--are also reflected in AMSA-Phil Programs. Through our Programs database, the member organization can foster collaboration and share their knowledge and experiences on the implemented activities to support other member organizations. Sustainable projects can improve over time, and eligibility for international recognition by enrolling in IFMSA Programs may be given to all enrolled activities to AMSA-Phil Programs.

What are AMSA-Phil Programs?

AMSA-Philippines’ Programs are centralized streams of national and local activities organized by the member organizations of AMSA-Phil. These are patterned after the IFMSA Programs, which coordinate activities on an international level.

ACTIVITIES of AMSA-Phil Programs include but are not limited to: a. Projects b. Campaigns c. Celebrations d. Workshops e. Events f. Exchanges g. Training

The AMSA-Phil PROGRAMS are as follows: a. Communicable Diseases b. Emergency, Disaster Risk, and Humanitarian Actions c. Environment and Health d. Ethics and Human Right in Health e. Gender-Based Violence f. Health Systems g. Healthy Lifestyles and NonCommunicable Diseases h. HIV and AIDs and other STIs i. Maternal Health and Access to Safe Abortion j. Medical Education Systems k. Mental Health l. Realizing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights m. Teaching Medical Skills

How to Enroll in AMSA-Phil Programs?

Coordinate with the Internal Vice President to express interest in enrolling to AMSA-Phil Programs Before Implementation: Fill out the Activity Enrollment Form

After Implementation: Fill out the Activity Enrollment Form and the Activity Report Form

FAQs

1. Are we required to enroll all of our activities in AMSA-Phil Programs?

No. We encourage you to check if your activities are in line with the 13 Programs and coordinate with the national officer if the activity can be enrolled in AMSA-Phil Programs

2. Our organization is interested in enrolling our activity to IFMSA, do we need to enroll in AMSA-Phil Programs first?

Yes! This will give the IVP a chance to review your activities and provide technical support if necessary. Then after you enroll in AMSAPhil Programs, you will be eligible to enroll in IFMSA Programs.
