This term students are covering all topics that form part of Diversity of Living Organisms (Unit 1) and any relevant practical skills. There are 8 chapters in total. Biological Molecules, Cells, Biochemical Reactions, Transport, Gas Exchange, Variation, DNA Replication and Protein synthesis.

In Term 2 Year 12 will be continuining Theme 2, Macro economics. We will cover aggregate supply and demand, the multiplier theory. They study National Income and macroeconomic equilbrium, economic growth and macroeconomic policy equilibrium.

Personal Portfolio - Working to their personally chosen themes, students are developing their own areas of interest and learning new skills in practical workshop sessions. Studio Skills / Research / Exploration / Development / Realisation.

In Year 12 of A Level Product Design with Edexcel, students will explore the entire design process, from research and idea generation to hands-on prototyping. Students will gain insights into various materials, including metals and plastics, and learn about different manufacturing techniques. The course emphasises understanding existing products and considering user comfort and environmental sustainability. Students will also be introduced to computeraided design (CAD) software for digital representation. Through their mini NEA projects, they will apply theoretical knowledge, and the coursework includes a focus on the business side of product design, providing a well-rounded understanding. The NEA project will be divided into 4 parts.

Each project is assessed accoring to the Pearson marking assessment grid. At the end of the term pupils will sit a written assessment of the theory content covered during the term. This will be formed from a mixture of short, long and multiple choice questions.

In BTEC IT this year students will cover two units of learning. Unit 6 - Website Development. Students will investigate website development principles. They will design and develop a website using scripting languages. Unit 3 - Using Social Media in Business. Students will explore how businesses use social media to promote thier products and services internationally. Students also implement social media activities in a business to meet these demanding requirements.

All the resources are in students class OneNotebook and teams

Term 2 will initially focus on preparation of paper 2 of the exam. The chapters covered (chapters 8-12) will explore algorithms, data types, programing and software development. Once the content has been completed, we will complete a deep dive into the examination paper in preparation for the upcoming exam. Areas of the course that are identified as benefiting from a look back will be revised.

In Computer Science, all resources are provided through OneNote and on Teams.

In Year 12, students will learn about social psychology – how others can effect our behaviour and how we can influence the behaviour of others, including the process of obedience to authority. Students will also start Research Methods to apply their knowledge to studies in other units.

In Psychology, all lesson resources, revision materials and assessment materials are posted on the Teams page of the class, which all students have access to.

Year 12 A Level PE. Students will cover the following: Sports Psychology - coursework. Personality theories, attitudes, arousal and anxiety. Anatomy and Physiology - the neuromuscular system and revision of topic 1. Exercise Physiology & Applied Movement Analysis - diet and nutrition.
