INTRODUCTION TO STRUCTURE, MATERIAL AND TECTONICS PAVILLION The purpose of this assignment was to comprehend and practise the importance of structural stability and structural integrity whilst making a model. The arches are self supporting structures, hence I designed the main arches that interconnected to ring shape structure that is an opening, representing the eye (oculus) The repetition of the arches placed symmetrically in different sizes. The model I have designed is called Deus Oculus

As my attempt to live amongst people get to an exhausting point, I would isolate my place. Caelestis, is not just a hideout place for me. It’s a place I go to, to process my thoughts, and interact with stars. Reading is far better than conversing with people who cannot fully com - prehend one’s mind. Caelestis is filled with an - tique books from history. And I believe histo - ry is our biggest lesson that we mostly ignore. Caelestis’s exterior during the day time enclos - es around the building, and the Mirror facade shows the reflection of the person who views it. Just similarly to the tendencies of others who always like to project themselves onto me. And at night hours, I will open the enclosed facades to the nature, welcoming it and blending in with the surroundings.

DESIGN 2- CLIENT HOUSE (SITE MODEL)

H I S T O R Y A N D T H E O R I E S O F A R C H I T E C T U R E

The objective of this assignment was to create a 200mm by 200mm cube that is to our preference and design the exterior and interior in a manner that mimics ancient Greek architecture. I have personally love Greek history & Architecture.

Hence, I had a stimulating idea to play around with reflection, whilst conveying a meaningful story.

SEMESTER 3 DESIGN Inspiration for the visitor’s center is nature’s marriage with architecture. This project conveys the inexplicable connection between the mind, heart, body & soul of a human being with mother nature. Hence, this is a holistic design approach of the visitor’s center has components of sustainable architecture, such as a vast green roof, a garden space with water streams, which is considered the heart of the building, and the water stream segregates the budling spaces according to its function. In addition, the water stream is recycled and utilized for the vertical gardens and other landscaping irrigation. The shape of the building takes its physical formation which emulates a manta ray.

MALAAFAI CAFE’ The motive of this project is to rebrand the existing cafe’, breadmatters into Malaafai Cafe’ which depicts Maldivian traditional architecture and its significance. Inspiration for the cafe’ will be derived from pre-islamic & post Islamic architecture in the Maldives. Hence, some of the architectural ornamentations will disclosed symbols of Tibetan Buddhism and their philosophy within the exterior & interior of the Cafe’. The design elements utilized for the place will depict Maldivian traditional houses & similar functions. The structure frames will be preferably hardwood timber structure. For the pitch roofing, the materials will be timber structure formed by interlocking joint system (Tongue & Groove), followed by Traditional thatch installation to roof cover. In ancient times’, this interlocking joint system was mastered by carpenters, construction workers & boat builders.
