Amira Smith is a creative problem solver, producer, designer, marketer and resourceful connector, Amira is a Philadelphia native from the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood of North Philly. Amira served as the Director of Marketing and Inclusion for Philly's film commission, the Greater Philadelphia Film Office (GPFO), marketing the Philly region to the movie industry for four years. Her inclusion efforts at GPFO were to increase diversity in media by identifying the unique barriers of entry for filmmakers and crew who are BIPOC, women, LGBTQ, and/or disabled and provide resources to help them create tangible career paths, onscreen and behind the camera. Amira also had a brief stint in film finance. Amira takes on creative projects that she feels a connection to such as recently serving as a consultant on documentary film A Woman On The Outside, transcribing/ coauthoring the ‘The Mind of Wallo267’ book series, and serving as media and creative consultant for nonprofit The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia. Amira most recently joined the MikeJay Films team as the Head of Brand Strategy and Design.

I created this piece to be a reminder of the quote, “Love is the most powerful chemical in the universe, and dissolves everything which is not of itself.” The braille pattern represents that many people experience life differently-abled so always consider and be open to the perspectives of others We all have different needs, but still love is the most powerful and the equalizer
