2A Science Project (ES) Our 2A students are testing the strength of tissues as part of their curriculum science projects while learning to use the AST Problem Solving Process and Scientific Method.

Question: Are tissues that cost more, stronger than tissues that cost less?

Answer: Ask a 2-A students to find the answer. Great job Eagles!

IB Art, Visual Arts Exhibition (HS) Ib Art students showed off their different Âż artistic talents at the Visual Arts Exhibition.

It is truly amazing what our Eagles can do with a pencil, camera, clay, and more!

La Sexualidad y el Adolescente, Talk to MS Parents (MS) As part of their monthly activities the Character Education Department organized a great Talk given by Ms. Marielos Quesada (MS Counselor) called: La Sexualidad y el Adolescente.

Miles for Smiles (ES) Train Yourstudents Dragon 3.ran the Miles for Smiles race to support Operation Smile Elementary It was an incredible for our students!

Honduras. This fundraising event will morning help children with cleft lip and palate have a surgery and a smile.

Kudos to our Elementary Eagles, parents, and teachers for supporting this activity!

General Services graduation English Academy A group of our General Service staff graduated from the Everyday English course of the English Academy. The school sponsored and motivated them to participate in this educational challenge.

AASCA Middle School Sportsmanship Festival (MS) A selected group of athletes went to Costa Rica to represent AST in the AASCA Middle School Sportsmanship Festival. In this festival they joined other schools from Central America and played together. This Festival is an incredible experience in which they recognize the middle school students that are doing great academically and practice 3 sports.

Alumni Corner Samuel Fernando Alvarado (2004) Alumnus Samuel Fernando Alvarado has a brilliant future as he is innovating technology in the old continent in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

After his high school life at AST, he went to Milan to study Architecture. His vocation for design and construction, led him not only to graduate from a prestigious university located in Piazza Leonardo da Vinci; but also to take off from scratch in a luxury real estate, whose clients acquire properties in Marbella, Ibiza, London, among others. In 2015 he was appointed Executive Consultant in a Business Development Company, where he connected B2B and B2C technology in several companies around the world.

His current job is in ModelMe3D, his technological incubator; where he is not only the co-founder, but he is in charge of its growth and of negotiating with investors.

Samuel's company recently won the first place in the Hackathon Amsterdam 3D, and in addition, in Abu Dhabi he was awarded a cash prize of $ 250,000 to finance the project and receive mentoring.

Samuel dreams to bring his technology back home.
