Family Code Night Elementary School held its second successful Family Code Night. The event engages children and their parents in the experience of doing their first computer programming together. Family Coding and bonding in one night.

Charla ‘‘The Issue of Bullying’’ Middle School parents attended an important talk as part of the Character Education program, about ‘‘The Issue of Bullying.’’ This lecture was very informative, and was given

by MS Counselor, Mrs. Marielos Quesada.

Eagle Tots, Eagle League, and Eagle Cup Closing Ceremonies On Wednesday and Thursday we had our little Eagles’ first sports season closing ceremonies. Eagle Tots, and Eagle League played the finals in soccer while Eagle Cup played their last Volleyball games.

We are ready for the new sports season to come!! *More information will be provided through our social networks and email.

Cultural Exchange Our High School and Middle School bands had a ‘‘Cultural Exchange Night’’ with Freedom and Valle de Sula bands from San Pedro Sula. Our Performing Arts Center was the venue where the three schools came together to play music. Congratulations to our teachers Mr. Marco Ferrera, Mr. Edwin Cardona, and Mr. Walter Arita for putting together this amazing cultural event.

AST’s Broadway Spectacular at the Performing Arts Center Saturday and Sunday we had the amazing Broadway Spectacular at AST with students from all ages performing to their best skills. With all this talent Broadway is definitely our next stop!

Congratulations to Mrs. Michelle Schneider (PAC Director) and her team for making this event possible.

Greek Festival For the 5th consecutive year in a row our 9th graders had the Traditional Greek Cultural Festival, a cocurricular activity organized jointly

by Ms. Yillian Izaguirre (9th grade Spanish), and Mr. Malcolm Lamprecht (HS History). There was not only a lot of food, but also poetry, music and the traditional ZORBA THE GREEK dance! It was so much fun!

Colonial Days 2nd graders had the opportunity of experience life in Colonial America for one afternoon. They fished, played traditional games, and even simulated to wash their clothes. It was an educational activity!

There’s no better way of learning than ‘‘hands on’’ learning!

Alumni Corner Celsa Flores (’69) Alumna Celsa Flores is one of the most outstanding artists in Honduras. She graduated from AST in 1969 and went to study Art in the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada. She later studied two years in the Academia de Bellas Artes in Rome, Italy.

Celsa has published a lot of articles in magazines and has won a lot of prizes. Some of them, including the First Place in the 50th anniversary of the Naciones Unidas in Tegucigalpa.

She is currently presenting her work in an exhibit in the Centro Cultural de EspaĂąa in Tegucigalpa until December 21st. We invite everyone to go and see her art work!
