1st Grade ‘‘Once Upon a Forest’’ Movie Trip (ES) As part of the Science and Social Studies cross-curricular activities, first graders went to the movies to watch ‘‘Once upon a Forest’’ celebrating Earth week and building awareness of the conservation of the forests.

2nd Grade Poetry Day (ES) 2ND graders did an outstanding job by ¿ reciting poems written by them in honor of Mother’s Day. Their poems were unique and thoughtful.

4th Grade Math End of the Year Celebration (ES) Train Your Dragon 3.

4th grade Math class celebrated the end of was an incredible morning for our students! the year party withItfun board games and delicious burgers catered by our Dining Hall.

Earth Day Celebration (ES) We celebrated Earth Week with different activities throughout the whole week in order to take care of our environment. A BIG thank you to the Character Ed. Department and all our teachers for this great initiative.

Elementary school students & teachers had a NO plastic picnic!

Arq. Erik Aguilar delivered an informative talk to our Eagles about the conservation of the environment. Thank You!

Students learned to plant a huerta which will be used by our Cafeteria.

Spanish Department’s End of the Year Assembly Elementary celebrated the end of the year assembly organized by the Spanish Department. Students were awarded in the following categories: best poem, best essay, and best short story.

NAHS Induction Congratulations to the new members of the National Arts Honor Society! Houses Cross-Divisional Competition As the end of the year approaches, we had the ALL school Houses Cross Divisional Competition. All houses competed against each other in a thrilling and amazing morning.

Congrats to the House coordinators, house parents and the students for a great display of sportsmanship in this year’s competition!

Cyber Awareness Talk Special Agent Mauro Lรณpez of Homeland Security, came to our school to give a very important talk about cyber awareness to our students and parents. We congratulate Agent Lรณpez and also we want to thank the US Embassy for this incredibly important donation.

Contemporary Band Concert It was an amazing Friday night thanks to AST’s Contemporary band! A HUGE Thank you to Mr. Walter Arita for making this concert possible and to our guest band The Classic Brothers. Our Contemporary band interpreted great 70’s and 80’s songs to raise funds to buy new instruments for the band. Good Job Eagles!

Extracurricular Violin Presentation Teatro Manuel Bonilla The Violin Extracurricular class participated on Friday May 10th in Teatro Manuel Bonilla in an orchestra composed of 120 musicians. The purpose of this activity was to raise funds to buy instruments for children of Proyecto Uremu. Great job from our students of extracurricular Violin and their teacher Carmen Barahona!

Alumni Corner Gabriela Coello (‘06) Alumna Gabriela Coello or Gaby, as her friends called her, Is an ambitious woman with a lot of human sense that loves helping others. Gaby graduated from AST in 2006 and she decided to stay in Honduras to get her Law degree with International orientation in UNITEC. Gaby works in family businesses and she is an active member of Rotaract Honduras. As a rotary she has accomplished a lot of works like project progress with El Arca de Honduras, the school Brisas de Oriente and Soroguara regarding water and sanitation projects. Rotary support in medical, dental and ophthalmological brigades.

Gaby loves to travel and she wants to continue working for the Rotary and other foundations to help more people and her country. Congratulations Gaby, keep flying high!
