Elementary School Monthly Assembly Elementary School had its monthly assembly organized together by Elementary STUCO and the ES Principal, Mrs. Vides.

Student council members delivered the monthly announcements, and congratulated the December birthdays.

Character Ed. Department led the Elementary School students in a song about Values and explained the Values for the Month of December: Generosity, and Caring.

What a great start to the Holiday Season!

Friendship Club Celebration (Elementary School) Friendship Club celebrated its monthly reunion. Students had a delicious breakfast: Waffles and Milk.

Advisors Ms. Nena Alvarado and Mrs. Cristiana Baide, showed our students a video about respect, and reminded them to: ‘‘Be kind, it’s the Eagle Way!’’

Friendship Club is created for new students to meet other students and help them adapt faster to AST. Students who are not new are chosen by Advisors Mrs. Cristiana Baide and Ms. Nena.

Charla Emotional Intelligence 1st grade parents had a talk about Emotional Intelligence. Parents learned skills on how to aid their children with their emotions and feelings.

The lecture was given

by Mrs. Fadya Kafati.

She is the Pre-School & 1st grade Counselor. Fadya has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Masters in School Psychology. She has been working at AST for 11 years.

Toy Drive (AST General Services Celebration) Saturday morning Pre-School had its annual Toy Drive. This activity is carried out year after year by Pre- School students and staff for our General Service Staff (Cleaning staff, guards, nannies, etc.). Our employees celebrated Christmas with their extended families and enjoyed delicious food, took pictures with Santa, and had a great time!

Thank you to Pre-School staff and parents, Solidarity Club, NHS, and NJHS for making this activity possible!

AASCA Track & Field/Cross Country Our Eagles did an outstanding job representing the school in the AASCA Track & Field/Cross Country Tournament in El Salvador. We congratulate our athletes, their coaches, and the Athletic Department for this great tournament!

ABSH Chess Tournament, San Pedro Sula Raúl Murillo (9th grade) traveled to San Pedro Sula to represent AST in the ABSH Chess Tournament. Our Freshmen finished the competition in 3rd place! We want to congratulate Raul, and his coach Daniel Colindres for their hard work and for putting the name of AST up top, Raúl is part of AST’s extracurricular programs: Chess Club

Relevo por la Vida Christmas Visit On November 29, Relevo por la Vida members went on their annual Christmas visit to the Centro de Cancer Emma Romero de Callejas, bringing donations, treats and mostly BIG smiles to the center's patients!

Alumni Corner Eva Carolina Gómez Mannheim (’79) Alumna Eva Carolina Gómez is a succesful Honduran professional. Eva has a Masters in Political Science from the University of Geneve in Switzerland. She has had a lot of important positions throughout her career. She was Honduran Deputy Minister of Tourism from 2002 to 2007. Later on, she joined Zago solutions which is a consulting firm that specializes in the tourism industry where she became Executive Vice President.

From March 2013 up to date she is the Executive Director of the Museo de Identidad Nacional (MIN) where she works fostering cultural events for Honduras. Now, she is experiencing the entrepreneur world aside from her jobs. Together with Juan Carlos Fernandez, and Miguel Ávila they create Sal Si Quiero.

Sal Si Quiero is a small company of flavored salts, spices and Honduran salts. We invite everyone to try these delicious salts that will give you a different flavor at the time you cook.
