The Spring 2010 issue of American Road magazine pays homage to roads named for American Indian leaders and tribes including: the 1914 Mohawk Trail, an ancient trade route turned tourist road in Massachusetts; the 1915 Apache Trail, Arizona's centuries-old thoroughfare forged by Salado Indians; the Nataive American Scenic Byway evolving to connect reservations in North and South Dakota; and the Tecumseh Trail, a 1917 auto route from Jackson, Michigan, to Toledo, Ohio, that still evokes the spirit of the noble Shawnee chief. We hope you enjoy reading the excerpts from this issue.
