Dear CAG Community, The 2015-2016 school year reflects our continued commitment to build on the strength and stability of recent years, even as we begin to reach back into the legacy of our alumni community as a resource with which to build for the future. Students and faculty are busy learning and leading how to adapt and improve to new ways of understanding our selves and the world we inhabit. They look to advance our ability to apply Project-Based and Student-Centered Learning as new modes of educational engagement that ask more of us as individuals to become effective partners and collaborators in achieving meaningful outcomes. They face together the challenges of moving beyond reputation - what others know of us, in order to build character – the inner strength when no one is watching. CAG is also moving to build systems within the organization that can effect greater resilience and predictability in how we accomplish our mission to empower and inspire. We are gaining important insights through the use of data to track and critically analyze which factors among many will make the most difference in evaluating our curricula and professional development opportunities. We are thick with conversations about dual language immersion, reading comprehension, essential math proficiency and curricular alignment between sections so that our graduates will leave for their university experience increasingly prepared and confident. That volunteer groups like APM and Boosters, and governance and leadership within such a community of learners must continue to adapt and improve provides a mandate to think differently, explore boldly and responsibly – and perhaps beyond all else ask questions that go to the heart of the matter and follow with integrity and grit wherever the answers may lead. We’re glad you’ve shared this year with us - and with your continued support and partnership, we will continue to make the future at CAG even brighter. Douglas Atkins General Director
