 Monday – Friday; 10am- 5pm

 Saturday; 11am-4pm

 Sunday: CLOSED

Behaviors & Safety Measures

 Wash your hands and clean up after yourself immediately

 Dispose of trash appropriately

 Respect and adhere to all posted signage

o Removing property signs or defacing property may lead to fines

 Report any violations to the RA on-call or front desk immediately

Front Desk / Amenities

 Equipment to Check Out:

o Outdoor sports equipment and Game Room equipment are all available for checkout at the front desk during office hours

 Bring photo ID to check out equipment

 Amenity hours and occupancy are subject to change.

o Most amenity spaces will only be open during business hours with the exception of the mail room and gym (subject to change).

Laundry Room Etiquette

 Only use HE (high efficiency) detergent when washing cloths

o Only use the recommended amounts of detergents/fabric softeners

 No scent beads

o These clog the ducts

 Keep wash loads smaller to avoid overloading the machines

o Overloading will cause the machine to lock as a safety measure

 The machine will unlock after it has completed it safety measure which could take up to an hour

 Do not unplug machines

 Do not open machine doors during laundry or drying cycle

 Set an alarm on your phone to match the timer for the washer/dryer if you choose to leave your belongings unattended.

o Please move your laundry to the next machine or remove from the laundry room within 5-10 minutes of your load being completed.

 These are shared rooms/machines

o We encourage you to be respectful of your community members time and needs

 Ensure you pick up after yourself and dispose of all dryer lint or sheets in the proper trash receptacle after each use of the dryer.

 Do not store any laundry supplies or clothing in the laundry rooms

 Any unapproved items left in the laundry space for longer than 24 hours may be bagged and stored at the desk until the end of the month and/or disposed of.

Community Kitchen Etiquette

o Should you choose to leave any food or beverages in the community kitchen, we ask that you write your name and date on the items left in the space and store appropriately.

 i.e. pantry items / dishes stored in cabinets

 refrigerated items stored in the fridge

 No items should be stored on counter spaces

o Any items that have spoiled, leaked, or gone past expiration will be disposed of.

o DO NOT dispose of grease or cooking oil in the sink or drain.

 Doing so can clog the lines and cause serious plumbing issues.

 Community sinks do not have garbage disposals.

o NEVER leave food unattended when cooking or baking

o If you choose to use any of the dishes or cookware in the community kitchen, please ensure you wash and put back any items where you found them.

o Please pick up and clean up after yourself whenever you are done in the kitchen.

 Housekeeping staff does general cleaning.

 It is not their job to clean up after you

 If you make a mess we ask that you be respectful of the space and leave it clean for the next resident to use it.

o Kitchen trashes are for cooking / kitchen items ONLY

 Please dispose of full trash bags in the trash rooms

 All personal trash should be disposed of in the trash rooms located on the first floor of each building and should not be disposed of in the kitchen trashes.

Mail/Packages

 Mail boxes are sorted by assigned bedspace number and are located next to the front office

o Open 24/7

 Packages are delivered and checked in at the front desk

o Residents should receive an email/text message when packages are checked in by the community and ready to be pick up

 As a friendly reminder, all mail/packages must include your first and last name as it appears on your Lease

o You will use the property address of 420 Redondo E, Albuquerque, NM 87106.

o Items not addressed properly may be returned to sender

o The email and phone number used for notifications were the ones you listed on your application

 If you need to update either, please log into your Resident Portal to make the necessary adjustments

 Packages not picked up within 30 days, may be returned to sender.

Maintenance / Service Requests

 To place a service request/work order, please access your Resident Portal (casasdelriounm.com) and input the request

o Please be very descriptive when entering the work order

 If a light it out, specify which light is out. Is it a ceiling overhead light in your bathroom or bedroom? Is it a vanity light over the sink? This information allows our team to be prepared when going into your unit and hopefully avoid multiple trips.

 Most service requests will be addressed within 48 business hours on a priority basis

 After hours emergency work orders such as HVAC issues, power outages, security concerns related to doors and locks should contact the front desk (505-277-1619) or RA On-Call (505-9676991)

 Wi-Fi issues, please place a ticket in with help.unm.edu or by calling (505) 277-5757. When placing the ticket with UNM IT residents need to be specific in what type of issues they are experiencing and will need to provide their NetID

Charges / Lease Violation

 Trash

o Trash Rooms are located at the end of each hall on the first floor of each building

o A charge of $25 per bag of trash will be added to your resident account if you have not disposed of your trash properly

 Pet Policy

o $250 for first violation, per animal (24 hours to remove animal)

o $500 for second violation, per animal (24 hours to remove the animal)

 Noise Violation

o $50

The Pathfinder - UNM Student Handbook

 The Pathfinder UNM Student Handbook: composed of two sections (Campus Services and Campus Policies) which can be accessed by visiting pathfinder.unm.edu.

 The categories of the Pathfinder are divided into subcategories or named policies in order to help you easily navigate the needed information.

 Every effort has been made to provide current and accurate information in the publication; however, the administration reserves the right to alter, amend, or abolish its rules, regulations or policies at any time.

 For the most accurate and up-to-date information, please consult the individual departments and/or policy manuals referenced. The Dean of Students Office is responsible for updating and maintaining the Pathfinder.

Monthly Installment

 Due on the 1st of the month (September is coming up soon)

 Installment is late on the 5th of the month with a $30 late fee and an additional $5 per day (not to exceed a cap of $45)

 Physical payments such as personal checks, cashier’s check, money orders, or any type of physical/paper payment will not be accepted.

o All payments must take place online through the Resident Portal at casasdelriounm.com.

Thermostat

 Optimal 68-72 degrees (any lower can freeze the mechanisms)

Fire Safety

 A fire drill will be scheduled in September.

o Please keep an eye on the email you used to apply with for further details as we near closer to the date

o When an alarm sounds, you must evacuate the building and get at least 100 feet away from the building in the nearest gathering location.

 Chama: Go across Redondo Dr by Alvarado Hall, La Posada Courtyard, or across Campus Blvd next to the parking structure/IT building

Jemez: Go across Redondo Dr by Alvarado Hall/Coronado Hall, La Posada Courtyard, or Lower Johnson/Johnson Field

Pecos: Go across Redondo Dr by Alvarado Hall/Coronado Hall, La Posada Courtyard, or Lower Johnson/Johnson Field

 Gila: Johnson Field or by the Tennis Courts in A Lot

o Up to a $500 failure to evacuate fee

o Check in with a RA/professional staff member as they will be taking a head count

o If possible get in contact with roommates to determine where they are to ensure everyone within your unit is safely out of the building.

 $200 Fire Alarm Fee (sounding alarm in a non-emergency situation)

 Tampering with fire equipment (fire exit signs) is a lease violation and may also result in disciplinary action, criminal charges, and/or charges for refurbishment.

Missing Persons

 Emergency Contact – Update in Salesforce if one was not provided

Safety and Security

 Lock your door(s) - even if you are home

 Do not prop open exterior doors or hold the door open for those behind you

 Use the peep hole to check before opening your front unit door

 Keep blinds closed when you are not home

 Keep windows locked – do not remove window screens – windows are not an entry or exit point

 As a community we take every measure we can to provide safety measures but it is your responsibility to ensure your own safety

Roommate Expectations (provide the case sensitive link: http://bit.ly/CDRagreement)u

 The form online must be completed together by all individuals who live in the unit (one form per apt/unit).

 Be open and honest about your expectations of yourself and your suitemate

 Forms are due September 20, 2024, before midnight

 If you are experiencing any roommate conflicts, please reach out to your Resident Advisor.

o Reaching out to your RA is the first step in addressing any roommate issues

 If you have trouble reaching your RA you can reach out to any RA at Casas or go to the office and let the RA working the front desk know during office hours

 RAs are also students so please expect a response within 72 business hours

o Room changes / Transfers can be up to $300

Olympiad XLIV – Thur., August 29th at 6:30 PM on Johnson Field

 Olympiad is one of the largest residence hall programs and is arguably the most fun event of the year! You can paint your face, dress in your hall colors, and join your hall in an all-out rigorous Hall vs. Hall sports challenge!
