situated in a site surrounded by developing and mature business districts which expand vertically, this cascading complex was designed to forge a sense of groundedness and harmony with the land and low-rise structures close to nature.

a semester-long project, meandering through the valley is an evolution of a cascade crafted by aggregations of the iconic house-shaped pentagon. by means of honouring and expressing the natural slope of the module, a sprawling housing complex was composed before the scene of rising urban towers.

the diverging routes throughout the units and levels are interspersed with private and public gardens, enveloping the residents as they begin or continue their leisurely stroll, inspiring that feeling of groundedness in nature.

the different tones on different faces illustrate the depth and direction of sunlight in these scenes. a wooden grain texture lays over the feature staircase, and a stone texture for the exterior walls.

select realistic vegetation assets from the Enscape software were styled and rendered. from these, the three-colour graphics were extracted on Adobe Illustrator to portray an abtstract and lush landscape along the houses.
