AMBS Architects is an international team of highly skilled architects, designers and engineers, delivering a two-fold expertise in architecture and project management. Our approach puts into practice participation, creativity and interdisciplinary, and we give primary allegiance to a design process that directly engages the client and end user. AMBS was founded in London in 1996 by the architect Ali Mousawi, expanding on his 40 years of experience working in both the UK and Iraq, that started by setting up practice in Baghdad in the early 1970s. In 2007 Ali was joined as partner by Amir Mousawi and Marcos De Andres, and together they have established AMBS as one of Iraq’s foremost architectural firms, with a team of employees in offices in London, Baghdad and Basra. As a British-Iraqi practice, we uphold a forward-thinking approach informed by a deep cultural understanding.
