Since 2003, St. Ambrose Academy has been leading a bold revival of Catholic classical education for students in grades 6-12 throughout south-central Wisconsin, assisting parents in the formation of their children to emerge as joyful, intentional, and effective Christian leaders. School founders were convinced that a return to classical methodology in the context of a Christfilled community was the most effective way to form the human person in our current culture, which is increasingly tending toward human-centered Modernism rather than a God-centered existence.

WHY DO WE NEED A NEW HOME?
With so many challenges facing our Catholic faith and our nation’s ideals, there is an urgent need to provide students with a sound and complete education that roots their identity in Christ and inspires them to safeguard our timeless heritage.
While well-suited for classroom learning, our current leased facility lacks key space for all-school Mass and community gatherings, indoor and outdoor recreation, and more.
The ability to offer these features will complete and strengthen our program delivery and excellence, which families crave. Now is the time to create a new school home that will magnify our impact!

The Christ Our Light campaign seeks to raise $10 million to establish a new school home within the iconic Holy Name Heights building in southwest Madison and to open our school doors to students in September 2024.
Holy Name boasts more than 70 acres of greenspace and easy access from the Beltline, making it an ideal setting for the transformational task of educating children in faith and reason and forming them in virtue.
St. Ambrose will improve and lease two spacious floors comprising nearly 24,000 square feet, enabling the school to serve up to 280 students. The school will also offer the comprehensive and desirable amenities families seek, with arrangements to use the oratory for worship, the gymnasium and outdoor ball fields and greenspaces, a renovated swimming pool room for large gatherings, and more.
Holy Name offers Key Advantages for families and staff, including:
1. Near to where the school has operated for 20 years.
2. Convenient Beltline access for commuting and getting around Madison.
3. Safe and desirable surrounding neighborhoods.
4. A wealth of on-site amenities for a complete educational experience.
5. Convenient access to the bishop and diocesan staff for enrichment of the school.
The capital raised for the following three goals will help us establish a highly conducive and sustainable home to continue our powerful teaching program:
PHASE 1: (Funded and Proceeding!)
Includes: renovating the two large office floors, creating the furnished classroom, study, office, meeting, and storage spaces needed for a target enrollment of 280 students.
PHASE 2:
Includes: (1) renovating 6,000 sq. ft. of unused swimming pool area into a large community room with kitchenette, restrooms, reception and administrative offices, and focused spaces for music and band, (2) outfitting the north entry lobby with a new security vestibule, (3) creating an athletic department suite with two changing rooms, equipment storage, and adjoining offices, and (4) adding minor exterior upgrades to highlight the school’s location.
This space is crucial for the numerous daily activities of the school. Therefore, completing this area as soon as possible for students and faculty is a high priority.
RESERVE FUND:
Entails the creation of a reserve fund that will generate invested interest income to help pay for the ongoing lease. This fund is needed to put St. Ambrose Academy on track to securing its educational mission for decades to come.
