A pump test is a technique used by a pump manufacturer or supplier to verify one or more aspects of the pump's design or function. This test is carried out to ensure that the pump satisfies the parameters for performance and construction. There are lots of pump testing methods that are utilized on a daily basis. Here we will understand two of them: hydro and hydraulic testing pumps.
Hydraulic Testing Pump Hydraulic pressure pump is a diagnostic method for high-pressure hydraulic testing of tubes, pipes, gas cylinders, vessels, boilers, and metal casting parts. This technique is used to ensure that the component being tested is filled with an incompressible liquid, most often water or oil. The pressure of the test component is gradually raised to a specified set point and maintained for a predetermined period using a positive displacement reciprocating plunger pump with adequate safety relief and controls. After that, a visual review is carried out to see whether there is any leakage or if the pressure has dropped from the prescribed pressure point.
Hydro Test Pump The hydro pressure test pump is a procedure for hydro testing pressure valves and boilers, as well as highpressure testing of tubes, pipelines, and cylinders. This method detects any leakages or flows in casting components. A high-pressure plunger pump's pressure is increased at a specified moment and time in order to catch defects. There are many similarities between hydro and hydraulic tests. These methods usually flow between ranges from 1 LPM to about 770 LPM or more with the pressure of about 2800 bar. Applications of Hydro & Hydraulic pressure testing pump: ● These procedures are used to identify defects from boilers and pressure vessels. ● They are also utilized to test gas cylinders, pipes, and tube parts. ● It is subjected to hydro test pressure. Main features of Hydro & Hydraulic pressure testing pump: ● Both methods have an electric motorized driven system. ● Those are totally enclosed drive mechanisms. ● They consist of a heavy-duty precision gearbox. ● They also include a large air chamber.
