What do art, commerce, service, and 500,000 trees have in common? They are all an integral part of Amber Lotus’s mission. We recently reached a significant milestone of planting a half million trees through our partnership with Trees for the Future. What began as a simple strategy in 2008 to offset the trees used to produce our products has become a fundamental business component. We are now carbon negative many times over; the trees we have planted will continue to reduce enough CO2 each year to cover our annual carbon footprint more than 25 times. We value the earth, and we recognize the many benefits of tree planting. In addition to continually removing CO2 from the atmosphere, trees help restore degraded land, reverse deforestation, improve soil quality, and augment local living standards. Dietmar Voorwold Since the late 1960s, artists in the Land Art movement have been creating art in nature, composed primarily of the natural elements available at hand. Materials such as rocks, leaves, and water are the medium, and the terrain is the canvas. Intentionally impermanent, these works are created and then left to change, erode, and eventually be reclaimed by the elements. The 2016 edition of the Land Art wall calendar presents the creations of Dietmar Voorwold, whose fine art focuses on the intricate patterns found in the natural world. The Haunted Realm By Sir Simon Marsden
From the very beginning of recorded time, all great civilizations have believed in the supernatural in some form or another. His books include This Spectred Isle, The Haunted Realm, and The Journal of a Ghosthunter. His final book, Russia: A World Apart, was published posthumously in 2013.
