The project is located at Gold Ting bay, the south-west of Shanwei City, Guangdong Province. It is about 8 km away from the downtown area of Shanwei, seamlessly connected to Shanwei city center and highway. The site is gifted with superior natural environment.

The branded design and regional planning of Gold Ting Bay are inspired by the "Cetus Whale Constellation." Twenty iconic beacons are strategically positioned across the site, aligning with the star points of the "Cetus Whale Constellation." These beacons symbolize the distinctive appearance and ambiance of each district within the site.

Traditional art & craft

Roc - Peng T h e r e s o r t' s a r c h i te c tu r a l d e s i g n s e rv es as a representation of a majestic roc poised for flight. The elegance inherent in wings and feathers has been artfully extracted and applied as the design language for both the architectural form and facade of the East and West Towers. This is the origin of the mythical bird 'Peng' in our narrative.

Kunpeng and the story Teochew people Teochew embodies the yearning of overseas Chinese who have navigated the uncertainties of life and settled in foreign lands; it stands as a symbol of the expansive wingspan of the Chinese people and the emotional bridge connecting the internal and external realms. Having traversed the experiences of living abroad, the once wandering overseas Chinese find themselves drawn back to the embrace of their hometown, a place steeped in the rich tapestry of childhood memories. Just as a whale returns to its pod and Kunpeng migrates to Nanming, the guiding force of Kunpeng heralds the commencement of a new chapter for Teochew. Under the guidance of Kunpeng, a profound journey awaits, promising a fresh exploration and understanding of Teochew's cultural essence.

The Origin of Kunpeng

Kunpeng is a mythical creature in Chinese mythology. When in the water, it is a massive whale known as "Kun," with a body spanning thousands of miles. When it leaps out of the water, it transforms into a giant bird called "Peng." Peng flaps its wings and flies, migrating from the North Sea to the southern Heavenly Pool.

Digital Interaction Map & Chaoshan Crafts Exhibition The Digital interactive map seamlessly blends with the exhibition space featuring traditional crafts from the Chaoshan region. It is the most captivating section in the lobby waiting area. This feature assists newly arrived guests in swiftly familiarizing themselves with the hotel's diverse array of activities and areas, as well as the services provided by Club Med.

The theme of KTV & Mahjong Room is the rhythmic dance of tide. The design language in the space ingeniously captures the perpetual motion of the waves. Infused with a sea-blue palette, complemented by expertly orchestrated lighting and materials, the rooms come alive with a mysterious ambiance, evoking the enchanting sensation of being embraced by the ebb and flow of the sea.

The villa is located in suburb of Fuzhou, Fujian Province, adjacent to the Dazhang River. Within southeastern part of China, it belongs to the sub-stropical monsoon climate zone. It has high temperature and prolonged rainy season in summer, and pleasant weather in weinter. The annual temperature is generally fluctuated between 45-95 Fahrenheit degree.

In this project, I aimed to shape different sense of space experiences and explore the relationship between human activities and indoor/outdoor environments through controlled intervention of the natural environment.

The main structure of the villa consists of two staggered b o xe s. Th e e a ste rn b o x serves as the family and leisure space, while the slightly smaller suspended western box functions as the independent study and workspace.

- Model The integration of vertical greenery on the exterior walls plays a crucial role in temperature regulation within the indoor spaces. This innovative approach involves automated watering and fertilization systems, with sprays ensuring the well-being of the plants. To maintain a seamless aesthetic, the supporting pipes are discreetly concealed beneath the exterior decorative wall.

The ground floor's public areas feature extensive glass curtain walls, minimizing the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces to create a broad and liberating environment.

The second and third floors house quieter work and relaxation areas.

The exterior walls are clad in large stone panels, and traditional large windows are replaced by various rectangular smaller windows of different sizes. Given the hot climate of Fujian, particularly in summer, the top floor's indoor temperature can rise significantly. The small windows are strategically placed to mitigate excessive sunlight while cultivating a more secluded and mysterious atmosphere.

The fitness features high glass windows on one side, facing the outdoor swimming pool, providing natural light and a vibrant atmosphere to the exercise space.

Bar Elevation The open-plan public area comprises a living room, kitchen, and a small bar located beside the staircase, suitable for entertaining friends. There are no clear boundaries between these spaces, offering the homeowner greater freedom of movement.

"Innovation Economy" - The Revival of the Industry City

The grid gives me the most profound impression of this architecture. Its square form, square facade, square structure, square doors and windows. It is entirely composed of grids of various sizes.

So, I introduced this language into and evolved it within the spatial planning, thereby creating three types of usage areas with different levels of openness in the space: open area for public communication, semi-open area, semi-closed area, and closed private area.

Grids are rational, rigorous, and modular, much like the feeling brought about by industrialized and scaled production. However, through the evolution and non-standard arrangement of the grids, I have created some interesting, semi-open, 'irregular' areas,

In the 19th century, Brooklyn thrived as an industrial hub, but the decline in urban industry from the mid-20th century left many factories obsolete. Since then, the city has embarked on a journey of transformation, seeking to rediscover its vibrancy.

By the late 20th century, New York fostered a distinctive 'innovation economy,' driving sectors like art, design, film, TV, fashion, tech, and food. This wave of transformation reached Brooklyn, revitalizing once-obsolete factories, exemplified

The Urban Justice Center (UJC) is a commonweal organization that provides free legal services to individuals and social groups who suffer predicaments. They focus on a variety of social issues, and are dedicated to social services, community organizing and legislative advocacy.

- Concept In this project, the kindergarten will be embedded as a large playground within the existing structure. There are three vertical passages connecting the entire four-story space, including a standard fire staircase to ensure building safety, a bi-directional door elevator that can stop at half levels to serve the internally staggered space, and Child’s routes located on both sides of the building, which are a series of multi-level play platforms designed specifically for children's activities. This area, the combination of various small spaces and the installation of different climbing mechanisms forms a dedicated upward path for children.

The design of the open classrooms is based on the Montessori method of education and its mixed-age classrooms theory. These areas are all connected to the children's play platforms, aiming to inspire children to desire more exploration of space and benefit from it.

The preschool is located at 476-478 Classon Ave. The block is in a residential area, with rows of semi-underground townhouses.
