The year 2024 has been a year of concern, clearly highlighting an issue we have been warning about for years: the extremely limited accessibility to housing, most evidently in the rental sector. For a company like ours — which has always operated firmly in the residential sector, offering services throughout every stage of the housing cycle, and which, due to its long history, has witnessed many changes in housing over the past seven decades — it has been frustrating to see how the lack of a clear urban and metropolitan regional model, coupled with the constant improvisation surrounding the legal framework of housing, can rapidly deteriorate a system that took decades to build. A model that is certainly far from perfect, but that was historically founded on strong pillars such as savings, balance, proximity, and commitment.
Despite this context, we have always tried to contribute experience and ideas to improve the current model, and 2024 has been no exception in this regard.
For Amat Immobiliaris, it has also been a year that marked the starting point of the path we want to follow in the coming years. Throughout 2023, we engaged in a deep reflection on what our next steps should be as a company in order to better prepare our organization for the challenges of the near future. Amat Immobiliaris, we are always here to help our clients with any real estate service, at any moment in life. And we are also here to do so beyond the residential sector.
Finally, as in many other business sectors, 2024 was also marked by challenges in growing our team. It has not been easy to find talent and commitment, especially for certain key positions within the company. We need to find new balances: company–client, company–work-life balance. But if we are to move forward as a society, we must restore pride in work — and ensure that work, in turn, becomes a source of opportunity and growth.
