Support Your Community at 2015 Panhandle Days By: Jason Harrison, VP Business Development & Governmental Affairs One of the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce’s most important roles is to continuously examine legislation that impacts business owners and residents in the Panhandle. Therefore, every two years the Chamber travels to our State Capitol with business and community leaders to meet with our state legislators to discuss important legislative issues that affect the 26 counties located in the Texas panhandle. The purpose of Panhandle Days is to deliver a unified message to our state legislators on important legislative issues, such as the agriculture, arts, education, energy, healthcare, and workforce development. The Chamber is currently accepting recommendations for legislation that you believe should be presented to our state legislators at Panhandle Day. The deadline to submit a recommendation to the Chamber is December 5th. For more information, contact Jason Harrison at 342-2018 or Jason@amarillo-chamber.org. We encourage you to join forces with business and community leaders by traveling to our State Capitol in Austin for Panhandle Days on February 16-17, 2015. The Chamber will accept registration for the event beginning December 1. Event participants and state legislators will attend a reception on February 16 and on February 17 meet for a lunch after spending most of the morning on the Capitol grounds visiting state legislators. The registration fee to attend the reception, lunch and meet with our state legislators is $125. Members must provide their own travel and accommodations. If you have any questions call Jason at 342-2018. Watch the Chamber website for registration information or visit http://bit.ly/PanhandleDays2015.
