This has nothing to do with their quality – it’s simply to do with our local labelling laws So please don’t ask us which oils can be used for different ailments or injuries, because we are not able to answer you!

Instead, we strongly recommend you do your own research through Google, pubmed.com and/or the plethora of reference books available out there.

If you get an oil somewhere you shouldn’t, for instance in your eye, OR an oil gets uncomfortable on your skin, for instance Oregano can sometimes feel hot or itchy:  ALWAYS reach for vegetable or nut oil, like V6 or olive oil. This will dilute the essential oil and stop the discomfort.  DO NOT use water – this will drive the essential oil in further and make it more intense.

So if you get an essential oil in your eye, squirt vegetable or nut oil in it. If you don’t have any vegetable oil to hand, anything with a fat content will help – so you could also use butter or full fat milk in an emergency!

Photosensitive Some oils are photosensitive – that means if you put those oils on skin and expose that skin to UV light, it can cause a brown mark which then has to grow out (can take 8-10 weeks!). In extreme cases it can cause dermatitis.

It’s mainly the citrus oils & blends containing citrus, so pop those oils under clothing or on the soles of your feet if you’re going out in the sun.

To find out which essential oils and blends are photosensitive, just look for the yellow sun symbol in the Product Guide that came with your PSK. 3

General Ways to Use EO’s                 

- Dr Lin, Associate Professor at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Centre tested many brands for purity & consistency of quality and will only use YL Frankincense for his research

- Scientific name: Lavandula Augustifolia - Contains Linalool and Linalyl Acetate – widely researched and synthesized in many products - Instigated the re-emergence of aromatherapy when René-Maurice Gattefosse had a lab explosion and sank his arm into a vat of Lavender EO thinking it was water!

12. Lavender is known as the ‘Swiss Army Knife’ of EO’s because it’s so versatile – if in doubt….reach for Lavender!

13. Use on your temples for a sore head (and you could add Peppermint to the back of your neck too) 14. Pop a drop on your pillow to help drift off to sleep 15. In a moment of panic, sniff to calm and centre 16. Helpful with the ‘terrible two’s’ – pop on yourself or on your kiddie to aid calming.

17. In Homemade Lavender Lemonade!

18. Add 1-2 drops to a squirt of conditioner to nourish your scalp & hair 19. If you’re working on a creative project, combining Lavender with Peppermint balances both sides of the brain – helping with ideas, concentrations & cognition. Open both, hold them together and breathe through one nostril at a time.

22. Nourishing for skin - use topically to smooth skin and create radiance 23. Post exercise rub on stiff muscles & aches 24. Get a 25ml jar of coconut oil (e.g. Coconut Magic), warm so its liquid and add 8 drops Lavender, 2 drops Frankincense and 2 drops Peppermint, mix well and allow to harden – use as a lip balm

30. Pop a drop on a tissue and stick in car vents to help stay alert & awake (could also combine with Peppermint) 31. Add a drop to a squirt of shampoo or conditioner to help clarify and cleanse your hair & scalp 32. Add to water in a glass spray bottle and use to freshen bathroom and kill airborne bacteria – shake well before use!

 RC™ Blend What ticks?!

Lavandin - Lavandin is a Lavender Hybrid that is high in Camphor. Lavender (Lavandula augustifolia) is often cut with Lavandin to ‘extend’ the oil, therefore increasing the profit margin!

Uses: 59. Use directly on the skin to cleanse 60. Place 1-2 drops in your hand and rub over your dogs legs to protect from ‘irritations’

- Contains: Eucalyptus Radiata, Eucalyptus Citriodora, Eucalyptus Globulus, Myrtle, Spruce, Peppermint, Pine, Lavender, Marjoram and Cypress - Many of these oils are also found in YL’s ‘Breathe Again Roll-on’ - High in Eucalyptol - Eucalyptol is often synthesised and used extensively in mouth rinses

Uses: 70. Add 6-8 drops on a washing bag. Place in washing machine for fresh laundry 8

Make your own bath melts – 300g Coconut butter, 100mls Almond Oil, 40 drops Stress Away – melt coconut butter in a bowl over hot water (don’t over heat); add almond oil and Stress Away; mix well; pour into mould (ice cube tray, chocolate mould, etc); place in fridge for 10-15 mins to harden.
