Following these guidelines will ensure the logo is used in a way that upholds the aesthetic standards of CCR and keeps your company looking professional and cohesive.

PRIMARY LOGO CCR’s primary logo is a simple word mark. The logo takes inspiration from both decades-old design and modern-day typography to bring a retro-futuristic flavor to the table.

The distinct use of parallel lines is reminiscent of the film and television titles of the early 1980s, and a reimagining of CCR’s original ‘handshake’ logo modernizes the overall feel.

This is the main logo that should be used across primary applications. Using it in a trademark fashion will help audiences easily identify CCR’s branding. It is essential that the logo always be applied with care according to these guidelines.

MINIMUM SIZE The smallest the logo should be represented is 1.5” wide.

SECONDARY LOGOS CCR’s secondary logo can be used in replacement of the primary logo (but should never be used directly next to the primary logo). For instance, don’t use as a section title if the primary logo is used for the header—it looks repetitive and isn’t a good use of the brand elements.

The handshake emblem can be used when the full primary logo is not necessary or in cases where the brand name is already displayed in plain text. For example, It would work exceptionally well as an emblem on company apparel.

40TH ANNIVERSARY GRAPHICS Forty years is cause for celebration! In a nod to your 1980s origins, these 40th anniversary graphics have been retro-fied with monoline script and neon effects.

The primary graphic makes bold use of the number 40, very clearly demarcating the years CCR’s been in service. While the secondary is more of a supporting graphic to be used alongside other copy (see following page).

CCR burgundy is indicative of 1980s color trends. This shade of red has the potential to stimulate and energize. It commonly represents ambition and sophistication.

CLEAR SPACE To ensure legibility, always keep a minimum clear space around the logo. This space isolates the mark from any competing graphic elements like other logos or body copy that might conflict with, overcrowd, and lessen the impact of the mark.

The minimum clear space for the logo is defined as half the height of the paraline CCR letters. This minimum space should be maintained as the logo is proportionally resized.

As for the 40th anniversary graphics, the minimum clear space is defined by either half the height of the ‘handshake’ graphic, or the height of the 1981-2021 graphic.

UNACCEPTABLE USAGE A few rules are necessary for maintaining the integrity of the brand. Don’t compromise the overall look of the logo by rotating, skewing, or distorting in any way — that includes adding unnecessary and unattractive text decorations like drop shadows and outlines.

Here are a few examples of some ways you should never consider using the logo.

BACKGROUND & CONTRAST The coloring of the logo is flexible to work with many different block and photographic backgrounds. However, each option should be exercised with care, making sure the logo and type aren’t obstructed by the surrounding graphics.

To maintain clarity, be sure to consider the background color when choosing a logo format. Avoid placing the logo over busy images with too much detail, as it’s easy for the impact of the branding to get lost this way. If ever in doubt, a solid monochrome logo on top of your background container or imagery is usually a safe bet.

TYPOGRAPHY Typography is a powerful brand tool when used consistently. CCR’s current webpage exemplifies this with its concise use of a typographical palette, and the logo was refreshed with the intention of jumping right in.

BETWEEN FJALLA ONE’S BOLD HEADLINES And Roboto Light’s soft neutrality, the logo stands on its own without overwhelming CCR’s current typographical workhorses.
