Be sure to check the schedule frequently. The barns will open at 7 p.m., Friday, June 21 for tack only. Cattle may go to tieouts Friday night.
All cattle must be in place by 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 22. Livestock Judging has switched to Sunday afternoon and Quiz Bowl has moved to Monday afternoon.
State Advisor & new exhibitor meeting is Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Age divisions are determined on January 1 of the year of the show.
• Rookie - 4-8 years of age
• Junior - 9-12 years of age
• Intermediate - 13-16 years of age
• Senior - 17-22 years of age
You must have a birthday AFTER JANUARY 1, 2002 to be eligible for the 2024 show.
Show shirts are provided and required to be worn for showmanship and for cattle shows. Sullivan Supply is the sponsor for showmanship shirt. Buck Cattle Company is the sponsor for the Maine-Anjou cattle show shirt. You will pick up your show shirts at check-in. Each state is encouraged to participate in the community service project. This year we will be collecting socks for the GRAND OAK BAPTIST MISSION CENTER. The center collects socks and other items for people going through hard times and in need. We would like to challenge each state to bring and collect the most socks during the week of Junior Nationals. The socks need to be new and unworn in the original packing. Prizes will be awarded to individuals and the state that collects the most.
Each contestant will be assigned a contestant number after submitting entries. The contestant number will be needed to sign up for contests on-site.
• Exhibitors are automatically entered in livestock judging. State advisors will distribute scantrons.
• Showmanship (Chi & Maine) must be signed up for on the entry site when entering cattle.
• Photos & videos are due June 3rd on the Formstack links found in the rulebook.
• Team Fitting & Quiz Bowl teams will sign up at contest check-in at the show.
• Speech & Sales contestants will sign up at contest check-in at the show.
• Speech contestants have specific topics that must be followed for each division.
There will not be meal or banquet tickets offered this year. Concession stands & food trucks will be available at the facility.
The ceremony will be held in the showring. Exhibitors will be encouraged to bring lawn chairs to the showring.
Each state is encouraged to participate in the state basket auction. Any state wanting to participate will bring an item or basket with the theme of their choice. These items will be part of the annual silent auction. Half of the proceeds for each item will be donated back to the state association it belongs to. The other half of the proceeds will be given towards the 2025 National Junior MaineAnjou Show.
A live broadcast is provided on all show days (including showmanship) through Walton Webcasting. Shows can be viewed through their website, waltonwebcasting.com. The webcast is sponsored by Trans Ova Genetics.

Golf cart & ATV’s are allowed. Golf Cart/UTV Permit is $250. If you are bringing or renting a golf cart than you must have this permit. Golf carts/UTV must only be driven by a person with valid driver’s license and each cart must have their own insurance policy. Proof of insurance must be emailed to Lindsey@amaapc. com by June 15th.
TATTOO VERIFICATION & CHECK IN -
If your paper has been stamped with an AMAA or state association verification stamp like the examples shown below you do not need to have your tattoo checked. If your paper does not have one of these stamps it will need to be checked prior to check in.

• Stalls in the barns & in tie-outs will be pre-bedded.
• These are the three different stall fronts that will be used in the barns.
Once stalling assignments are complete, we will let everyone know what type of stall front they will stall to.
• The AJMAA & AJCA will provide stall pedigree signs for each entry checked-in. States do not need to do their own. Each exhibitor will receive a stall sign at check-in for each animal they brought.
• Stall Requests: On the exhibitor information portion of the entry website they can designate a stalling request. It would be best to list the exhibitor(s) and state if different from that of the exhibitor.
• Tie-Outs will be assigned by state this year. Exhibitors will stall within those areas by state.
• Generators are NOT allowed in the tie-outs to avoid fire and overall safety issues.
• Permanent panels are set for tie-outs. Exhibitors MAY NOT tie to their trailer.
• Pens are not allowed in Tie-Outs, except for cow-calf pairs. Cow/calf pair exhibitors must bring their own panels for their 10 X 10 pen. Pens will be in a designated area.
• Tie-outs will be assigned by state. Exhibitors will stall within those areas by state.

Andrew Foster along with his wife, Emily, and daughters Everly, Emerson, and Eleanor, own and operate Seldom Rest Farms where they raise registered Angus cattle. Their operation is based primarily on the sales of junior show heifer projects. Andrew grew up showing cattle on a state and national level and was extensively involved in the National Junior Angus Association where he served as NJAA Jr Board Vice-Chairman. After graduating from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Animal Science, Andrew came home to partner in the family operation with his dad and uncle. In addition to being named the 2013 American Angus Association Herdsman of the year, Andrew and his family have built one of the most successful and well-known show programs in the nation. He has a true passion for working with the youth of the beef industry and has judged many shows on a state and national level.
PROSPECT & PROGRESS STEERS, BRED & OWNED MAINE-ANJOU & MAINE ANGUS FEMALES, OWNED MAINETAINER FEMALES
Callis, with his wife, Kelly, and their children, owns and operates BKC Livestock, a small herd of SimGenetics cows. Callis markets a handful of bulls to area commercial customers while focusing on raising cattle that their children and other juniors can exhibit across the nation. Cattle are sold by private-treaty and a recently added online marketing forum. Callis graduated from Texas A&M in 2005 and was a member of their 2004 National Champion Livestock Judging Team. He went on to attain his Masters in animal breeding and genetics from Kansas State. Callis has judged cattle in 30 states and internationally. He has mentored and taught more than 150 students as a professor and livestock judging coach over the past several years.
Adam and Hannah McCall own and operate AM Livestock. AM Livestock is a small purebred Charolais & Angus operation focused on producing quality cattle that can compete in the show ring at the highest level but, more importantly, will fulfill their ultimate purpose as functional, sound, productive breeding pieces out in the pasture.
The McCalls enjoy exhibiting cattle across the country and working with the junior members who purchase them.
ADAM & HANNAH MCCALL KANSASThe National Junior Heifer Show is a family event for all ages. Many of our exhibitors who attend also bring along their little brothers and sisters who would love to participate but aren’t quite ready. With no minimum age, we want to offer young attendees fun activities on a few afternoons explicitly geared for the Littles. For three afternoons, we invite our Littles to come and enjoy activities like cookie decorating, heifer cutout coloring, and more! Each activity will last approximately 30 minutes, and all needed items will be provided.
