English 1 The standards-based curriculum integrates vocabulary development, reading comprehension, literary analysis, writing strategies training and application, and oral communication development through listening and speaking practice. The course will cover a variety of fictional short stories, nonfiction selections, functional documents, poetry, drama, and author studies.
