INTRODUCING BISON BINDERY
Inspired by naturalists of days gone by, Bison Bindery was founded to encourage the timeless craft of putting pen to paper, and to provide stationery for all those fascinated by the world around them.
All my designs are inspired by flora and fauna from around the world and are hand-painted in watercolour, or sketched in pencil, by artist Maddie Chambers in my studio on the edge of the South Downs.
I work with the guiding principle that the art I create shouldn’t harm the very subject that I am painting, which is why all of my products are made ethically and sustainably in Europe from eco-friendly materials that will not hurt the environment.

Bison Bindery notebooks are designed and made in the UK from sustainable materials. A modern take on vintage exercise books, each notebook features a blank, customisable box on the front cover so that you can keep your ideas organised. These notebooks are A5 in size and are slim and lightweight, perfect for field notes and sketching on the go.
Each notebook is packaged with a kraft paper bellyband, sealed with a recycled paper sticker.

My paper tapes are made in the UK using thick, 101 micron kraft paper.
Our eco-friendly paper sticky tape is fully recyclable and can be put straight in the recycling bin, no more peeling tape off presents or parcels before they’re thrown away. With approximately 50 metres on each roll these tapes will last all the way through Christmas and beyond, and are tough enough to handle the heaviest of parcels. Our tape also makes an excellent addition to any scrapbooking kit, and can be used decoratively on gifts.

Stickers are having a moment - mine are made in the UK from responsibly sourced paper stock and are 100% PVC free which makes them just as recyclable as my other products, and have a non-toxic, permanent water-based adhesive so they can be stuck anywhere, guilt-free! I’ve made them in a compact 6-8cms, which makes them ideal for sticking on anything, from water bottles to phone cases.

TRAYS
Trays are made from pressed birch wood, farmed from sustainable renewable forests, and printed by a small, family run business in Sweden.
They are available in two sizes - round trays measure 38cm and make a perfect statement table centre, small trays measure 27x20cms, just big enough for two cups of coffee and a biscuit! Trays are also dishwasher safe.

I aim to work with the natural materials as much as possible but this means that there can be variations from product to product. There can be variations in the weave of silk products, or grain and colour of the wooden products, but I hope you’ll agree this is part of their charm!
