thrive. It is a community I am delighted to be a part of and honoured to be leading.

At the core of our school lies our guiding trinity of individualised academic education, outstanding pastoral care and holistic development This holistic approach empowers our pupils to develop into fully rounded individuals, equipped with the essential skills and character traits required not only for success during their academic years, but also in their future endeavours.

Key stage 4 is when pupils first step on to the treadmill of public examinations. It is an exciting time but can also be daunting. It is also a period of transition to becoming a young adult, to having the grown up world begin to impede on childhood more significantly than it has, in terms of the emotional and the choices made. At Trinity we will be helping our young people to be able to manage this next stage, to grow in confidence as they take on the challenges, academic and otherwise and make their decisions about the next step on their journey, be it A Levels or academic and vocational study of another kind. There may well be the odd bump or wrong turning along the way but the Trinity family will be there to help.

Kind regards,

Assistant Head’s Welcome

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to Key Stage 4 at Trinity, whether it’s pupils returning to school and their friends, or new pupils joining our Trinity family. My name is Anna Brown, and I am the Assistant Head with responsibility for Key Stage 4. Many of you already know me as I have taught at Trinity for some time, and I am looking forward to supporting your child through the next phase of their educational journey.

The start of their GCSE/BTEC qualifications is an exciting and inspiring time. Please be assured that with the help of their experienced tutors and subject teachers; their staff are here to support and challenge pupils to aspire to achieve their goals.

I look forward to meeting you and I want you to know how much I believe that the ‘trinity’ of communication between pupils, parents and teachers is essential in each child being able to feel their ambitions are within their own capabilities.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have.

Yours sincerely,

The House system

Trinity operates a three-house system and every pupil is allocated to a ‘house’.

Ugbrooke (Blue)

Powderham (Red)

Luscombe (Yellow)

A pupil can contribute to the house total by gaining ‘house points’ for academic and other school activities that support the ten ‘Trinity words’, also through sporting or academic events. The house totals are important and rivalry between houses is strong. The houses have their own badges and colours for sport. Pupils from the same family will be allocated the same house.

The School Calendar of events can be found on the school website under the “About” section, trinityschool.co.uk/school-calendar. It is a working document and may be subject to change.

Senior Voice

This is the School’s weekly publication about what is going on at Trinity. It is sent out to parents and can be accessed on the School Website. trinityschool.co.uk/senior-senior-voice.
